Ventilation Requirements
A minimum clearance of 50mm (1.9 inches) is required at each side and the back of the machine if installed in an enclosed cabinet.
Electrical Installation Procedure
When installing the machine, always observe local regulations and standards. The appliance is supplied with a NEMA L6-20P power cord. Ensure a suitable mains power supply socket is available within easy access for disconnection after installation.
Plumbing Installation Procedure
Ensure installation complies with local plumbing and water regulations.
- Mains water pressure required: 14.5-145 psi (100-1000 kPa, 0.1-1 MPa).
- An inline water filter is required, meeting your specific water quality standards.
- The machine is supplied with a 3/8" Compression or 3/8" John Guest fitting.
- [Info] Turn on the water supply to flush any impurities, dust, etc., from the inlet hose and water pipe. Allow several litres to pass through, especially for new installations.
- Connect the hose to the boiler's inlet valve, ensuring a sealing washer is fitted.
- Turn on the water and check for leaks.
- The SP9 Head has a drip tray with a drain outlet that should be plumbed to waste.
Operating Boiler for the First Time
Follow these steps for initial operation:
- [Check] Verify all installation procedures have been completed.
- [Check] Ensure the water valve is open.
- Plug in the SP9 Boiler to an appropriate electrical supply and press the power button.
- The machine will fill to a safe level above the elements before heating. The "Ready/Status" light will show two red flashes while filling.
- Once heated to the set point, the machine will draw more water as the temperature drops by 1-2 degrees, then reheat. This cycle continues until the boiler is full.
- During filling, the "Ready/Status" light remains blank.
- The "Ready/Status" light turns green when the machine is full and at the normal operating temperature.
- Initial heat-up takes approximately 15 minutes.
- The SP9 Boiler is now ready for use.
- [Note] The machine is electronically controlled, so no manual priming is necessary.
