Soundking FP Series Professional Speaker System

User's Manual

Introduction

The Soundking FP Series professional speaker system is divided into active speaker and passive speaker categories. Each category includes several models across seven sizes. The following list details these models.

Passive Speaker System Models:

Active Speaker System Models:

Passive Speaker System

2.1 Features

The enclosure is constructed from high-impact polymer, injection molded for high intensity and light weight. It includes a handle for easy portability and features a non-symmetrical enclosure outline, making it suitable for use as a fold-back speaker.

The woofer speaker is designed for high power output, offering a wide frequency range, low distortion, and high sensitivity, with an aluminum frame to prevent mechanical resonance.

The driver utilizes a titanium diaphragm and a light mass voice coil, enabling high frequencies up to 18,000Hz.

The crossover employs high-quality polypropylene capacitors and flame-proof resistors with low inductance. Its precision design ensures a smooth frequency response and includes an auto-limit protection circuit to prevent driver damage.

2.2 Control Element

INPUT: Binding post, 1/4" TRS jack, and Speakon INPUT connectors are used to receive the powered signal from an external power amplifier. These can also serve as link output connectors.

Active Speaker System

3.1 Features

Similar to the passive system, the active speaker enclosure is made of high-impact polymer for durability and light weight, with a handle for easy transport. It is designed with a non-symmetrical enclosure outline and can function as a fold-back speaker.

The woofer speaker is engineered for high power, wide-range, low distortion, and high sensitivity, featuring an aluminum frame for non-mechanical resonance.

The driver uses a titanium diaphragm and a light mass voice coil, achieving high frequencies up to 18,000Hz.

The A.A.S.S (Automatic Amplitude Servo System) processor provides comprehensive protection for the transducers, automatically reducing signal levels when they reach dangerous thresholds for the transducers, ensuring acoustic response improvement.

Control Descriptions:

  1. IN link OUT: Input and output sockets, electronically balanced. The "IN" XLR socket accepts a dynamic microphone at low impedance or a pre-amplified signal (e.g., mixer line out). The "OUT" socket is linked in parallel with the "IN" socket, allowing multiple systems to be connected.
  2. LINE/MIC: Switch to select between "MIC" position for microphones or low-level sources, and "LINE" position for high-level signal sources.
  3. GAIN: Regulates pre-amplification of the input signal for optimal channel circuit performance. Adjust Volume to approximately 3/4 clockwise, then set the gain accordingly for a balanced adjustment.
  4. HIGH/MID/LOW: 3-band equalization controls to adjust sound tone. These are post-gain electronic controls; boosting them can cause clipping, requiring gain adjustment. Setting controls to "0" maintains the original tone.
  5. VOL: Volume potentiometer to control the channel signal level. Optimal performance is typically achieved with the knob at approximately 3/4 clockwise and the gain control set to the desired level.
  6. GND/LIFT: A 2-position selector to disconnect the signal source ground from the amplifier ground circuit (chassis). Use "ON" to break ground loops if hum is present. "OFF" connects the input signal ground to the amplifier ground. Use GND LIFT ONLY WITH BALANCED SIGNALS.
  7. A.A.S.S: Processor circuit that protects transducers from excessive signal levels. It automatically intervenes by reducing the signal when it reaches dangerous thresholds, ensuring fast reaction times and acoustic response improvement. The system features separate protection for low and high-frequency drivers, indicated by "HF" and "LF" LEDs.
  8. PWR: LED indicator for system power status.
  9. TONE: Control to adjust the tone, typically from 0 to 10.
  10. HP FILTERED OUT: Electronically balanced XLR connector for outputting the high-frequency signal.
  11. POWER switch: Turns the unit on or off.
  12. FUSE holder: Contains a fuse, a safety device protecting the AC supply circuit. Replace only with the same type and specification. If the fuse repeatedly blows, discontinue use and seek qualified service.
  13. AC power socket: Connects the unit to the power supply via the provided power cord. Ensure the source voltage matches the product's voltage before powering on.
  14. Voltage selection switch: Allows selection between 115V and 230V, depending on the application.
