User Interface Control Panel
The refrigerator features a touch control panel for various functions. The display screen shows icons for cooling, OFF status, temperature, super cooling, freezing, variable temperature, lock/unlock, vacation, and super freezing.
Control Panel Buttons:
- REF. TEMP: Cooling button for temperature setting.
- FLEX. TEMP: Variable temperature button.
- FRZ. TEMP: Freezing button for temperature setting.
- MODE: Button to select different control modes (Super Cooling, Super Freezing, Super Cooling and Super Freezing, Vacation).
- LOCK/UNLOCK: Button to lock/unlock the display panel (hold for 3 seconds).
Safety & Precautions
WARNING: This appliance contains flammable refrigerant R600a (iso-butane). Risk of fire/flammable materials.
General Safety Instructions:
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, unless supervised.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Keep ventilation openings clear of obstructions.
- Do not use mechanical devices to accelerate defrosting.
- Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
- Do not use electrical appliances inside food storage compartments unless recommended by the manufacturer.
- When disposing of the refrigerator, remove the door packing to prevent children from becoming trapped. Contact environmental protection units for proper disposal of refrigerant and insulation.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or qualified personnel.
- Ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged during positioning.
- Do not locate multiple portable socket-outlets or power supplies at the rear of the appliance.
- Disconnect the power plug before cleaning. Dry hands thoroughly before handling the plug.
- Regularly check the power supply cord and plug for damage from pests, which could cause short circuits or electric shocks.
- Do not disassemble or assemble the refrigerator yourself; contact the Toshiba Call Centre for services.
- Secure doors properly to prevent gaps that allow warm air entry.
- Do not place hands or feet under the refrigerator.
- Avoid prolonged door openings or frequent opening/closing to maintain cooling efficiency.
- Remove water droplets, frost, or dew by wiping with a dry cloth after moistening with warm water.
- Do not store bottles in the freezing unit, as they may break when frozen.
- Do not use if the power cord is damaged or frayed.
- Do not pull the plug with wet hands.
- In case of gas leakage, do not unplug or touch the refrigerator; keep ventilation openings clear to avoid sparks.
Installation
1. Unpacking the Refrigerator: Remove all packing materials, including cardboard boxes and styrofoam. Lift the refrigerator to remove base packing and detach the power supply cord tape.
2. Installation Area:
- Install on a rigid, dry, and leveled surface to ensure stable operation.
- Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources (coal, gas).
- Ensure sufficient ventilation. Suggested temperature range: 10°C to 43°C.
- Place on a solid surface without carpeting that may obstruct ventilation. The surface must support approximately 100 kg.
- Avoid humid or wet places to prevent corrosion or electric leakage.
- Keep away from sunlight or heat-emitting objects to maintain cooling efficiency.
- Allow adequate space for ventilation: at least 10 cm (4 inches) at the top, 10 cm (4 inches) at the rear, and 4 cm (1.6 inches) on the sides (for GR-A28, refer to specific model for exact dimensions).
- Be careful when moving or installing to avoid damaging the PCB Box at the rear.
3. Checkpoint while doing installation:
- Lift the refrigerator from the bottom when moving to prevent slips and injuries.
- Move carefully to avoid scratching the floor.
- Do not place heavy objects or liquid containers on the refrigerator, as spillage can affect electrical insulation and cause fire or electric shock. Falling objects can also cause injury.
- Ensure the earthing line of the socket is connected to earth to prevent electric shock.
- Install on a strong and even floor to prevent overturning and potential injury.
Levelling the Refrigerator
Ensure the refrigerator is disconnected from power before leveling. Adjust the feet clockwise to raise and counterclockwise to lower the refrigerator until it is horizontally stable.
Levelling the Refrigerator Door
To level the doors, raise the lower door to match the height of the upper door. Insert fastener-rings into the gap between the hinge-grommet and the lower hinge using pliers, as needed.
Operation: How to use your refrigerator correctly and effectively
Display Panel:
- First Time Operation: The display screen illuminates for 3 seconds upon initial power-on, followed by a buzzer sound. The default temperature for the cooling compartment is displayed. The panel locks and dims after 30 seconds of inactivity.
- Locking/Unlocking: Long press the lock button for 3 seconds to enter or exit lock state. A beep sound confirms the action.
- Temperature Setting: Press the respective temperature buttons (REF. TEMP, FLEX. TEMP, FRZ. TEMP) to adjust temperatures within the specified ranges.
Convert Zone:
- Adjust temperature between -18°C to 7°C.
- Turn ON/OFF by long-pressing the Flex Temp button for 5 seconds until three buzzing sounds are heard.
Mode Setting:
- Select modes using the MODE button: Super Cooling, Super Freezing, Super Cooling and Super Freezing, Vacation.
- Super Cooling: Automatically sets cooling compartment to 2°C.
- Super Freezing: Automatically sets freezing compartment to -24°C.
- Time Setting for Super Freezing: Long press FRZ. TEMP for 3 seconds to set the duration (e.g., 6 or 48 hours).
Normal Operation:
- Set refrigerator compartment temperature between 5°C to 7°C. Adjust as needed for optimal cooling.
- Food may freeze in the refrigerator compartment if the ambient temperature is low or if food is placed near the air outlet.
- For ice cream, set the freezer temperature between the middle position and -24°C.
- Do not obstruct air circulation outlets and inlets with food or containers.
Opening Warning and Alarm Control:
- An opening music plays when the doors are opened. If a door remains open for over two minutes, a buzzer sounds every minute until the door is closed. Press any button to stop the alarm.
Additional tips in case of power failure:
- Minimize door openings during power outages.
- If the power failure exceeds 24 hours, discard all frozen food.
- The appliance may not operate consistently during extended power failures.
- This refrigerator is self-defrosting.
Maintenance
- Cautions for Operation:
- When moving, remove food and lean the refrigerator backward to drain the water pan. Hold the designated positions when carrying. Never hold by the door or handle.
- Do not lay the refrigerator on its side during transport.
- Wait at least 8 minutes after disconnecting the plug before reconnecting to prevent compressor issues.
- Fault Indication: Error codes (E0, E1, E2, E5, E6, E7, EE, EH) on the display indicate specific faults. Contact a maintenance specialist if an error code appears.
- Troubleshooting: Provides guidance for common issues such as failed operation, odors, long compressor operation, light failure, doors not closing properly, door seal issues, water pan overflow, hot housing, moisture inside, abnormal noise, and insufficient cooling.
Deodorizer: Plasma Pure
A built-in deodorizing unit in the cold air passage effectively removes unpleasant odors from the compartments.
How to make ICE
- Fill the ICE tray with potable water only up to the water level line.
- To remove ice, twist the lever as shown in the figure.
- Do not use bleach, cleanser, hot water, scrubbing brushes, thinner, or benzene, as these can cause odors and damage.
Trouble Shooting for Ice Making
This section provides solutions for issues such as no ice being made, few ice cubes, melting ice, round ice cubes, contaminated ice, broken ice cubes, and water near the tray.
Maintenance / How to Remove Accessory Parts
Accessory parts can be removed for easier cleaning. Replace parts in reverse order.
- Pockets: Lift up and pull towards you.
- Refrigerator/Freezer Shelf: Lift the shelf slightly and pull it out downward.
- Glass Shelf: Pull out the shelf until it stops while lifting it slightly, then pull it downwards. Be careful due to its weight.
- Vegetable Crisper: Open the door wide (over 90 degrees), pull the crisper out until it stops, lift slightly, and pull outward.
- Twist Ice Tray: Refer to the figure for installation and removal.
- Refrigerator Drawers: Pull out the drawer until it stops, lift it up, and pull it out. Be careful due to its weight.
- Crisper Shelf: Remove the vegetable crisper first, then pull out the shelf until it stops while lifting it slightly, and pull it downwards.
- LED Light Replacement: Contact the Toshiba Call Centre for LED light replacement. Only qualified service personnel should perform this task.
Energy Saving
- Keep ventilation openings clear.
- Set interior parts according to their designated positions.
- Leave adequate space around the refrigerator for ventilation (at least 10 cm at top and rear, 4 cm on sides).
- Use the refrigerator in a cool place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Do not obstruct cool air circulation with food or containers.
- Do not overfill the refrigerator.
- Do not set the temperature lower than necessary.
- Cool hot food before storing.
- Open refrigerator doors as briefly as possible.
E-Waste Management Guidelines
Consumers are required to recycle and dispose of electrical and electronic equipment through authorized recyclers as per the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016.
- Do's: Hand over E-Waste to the Company/authorized recyclers, keep the product isolated when non-functional, and do not open the product yourself.
- Don'ts: Never sell E-Waste to unauthorized agencies, throw E-Waste in household bins, keep E-Waste in open/exposed areas, or dismantle E-Waste on your own.

Product Warranty Terms & Conditions
Carrier Midea India Private Limited warrants the product against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of invoice. This warranty covers repair or replacement of defective parts free of charge.
Warranty Conditions:
- Warranty is valid only upon intimation of fault to the Company or its authorized dealer.
- The warranty period includes time taken for repairs and transit.
- The warranty terminates if the unit is serviced or repaired by unauthorized personnel.
- Extended warranty on the compressor is available for select models.
- Service charges and travel expenses for outstation locations are applicable.
- Damage caused by sabotage, misuse, accident, fire, flood, earthquake, or acts of God is not covered.
- The Company is not liable for delays in repairs.
- The Company reserves the right to repair or replace parts at its discretion.
- The warranty does not cover consequential damages.
- The warranty does not cover: teaching/instructing on product use, normal noise/vibration, correcting installation, normal maintenance, removal of foreign objects, correcting house wiring/plumbing, commercial use, damage from accidents or misuse, tampering by unauthorized personnel, power surges/dips, damage from pests, acts of God, or damage to plastic/glass parts.
- Tampering with the unit or altering serial numbers voids the warranty.
- The warranty is not valid for goods not distributed within the company's region or if the product is shifted outside India.
- Damage due to corrosive atmosphere or toxic gases is not covered.
- Painting, plating, and rusting are not covered.
