Motherboard Revision Identification
The revision number on the motherboard is indicated as "REV: X.X." For example, "REV: 1.0" means the motherboard revision is 1.0. When updating the motherboard BIOS or drivers, or when looking for technical information, please check the motherboard revision number first.

Chapter 1: Product Overview
1-1 Motherboard Layout

Chapter 2: Hardware Installation
2-1 Installation Precautions
Before installing the motherboard, please read the following precautions to prevent damage to the electronic circuits and components:
- Ensure the PC case is compatible with the motherboard.
- Do not remove or tear the motherboard S/N sticker or warranty sticker.
- Always unplug the power cord from the outlet before installing or removing any hardware components.
- Ensure all hardware components are securely connected to the internal connectors.
- Avoid touching metal leads or connectors on the motherboard.
- It is recommended to wear an anti-static wrist strap when handling electronic components like the motherboard, CPU, or memory. If an anti-static wrist strap is not available, touch a metal object before handling to discharge static electricity.
- Place the motherboard on an anti-static pad or in an anti-static shielding bag before installation.
- Ensure the power supply is turned off before plugging or unplugging the power supply cable.
- Verify that the power supply voltage is set correctly for your region before turning off the power.
- Before using the product, ensure all cables and power connectors for hardware components are connected.
- Be careful not to let screws or metal parts touch the motherboard circuitry or components to prevent damage.
- Check for any loose screws or metal parts inside the computer case.
- Place the computer system on a flat surface.
- Do not install the computer in a high-temperature or humid environment.
- Turning on the computer during installation can damage system components and cause personal injury.
- If you are unsure about the installation procedure or encounter any issues, consult a qualified computer technician.
- If using an adapter, power extension cable, or multi-tap, refer to the installation or grounding instructions.

2-3 CPU and CPU Cooler Installation
Follow these instructions before installing the CPU:
- Ensure the motherboard supports the CPU. (Refer to the GIGABYTE website for the latest CPU support list.)
- To prevent hardware damage, turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the outlet before installing the CPU.
- Locate pin 1 on the CPU. The CPU cannot be inserted if it is oriented incorrectly. (Alternatively, find the notches on the sides of the CPU and the alignment keys on the CPU socket.)
- Apply a thin, even layer of thermal grease to the CPU surface.
- Do not turn on the computer without a CPU cooler installed. Failure to do so may cause CPU overheating and damage.
- Set the CPU host frequency according to the CPU specifications. Setting the system bus frequency beyond the hardware specifications is not recommended as it may not meet the standard requirements of peripheral devices. If setting the frequency beyond the standard specifications, configure it according to the hardware specifications of the CPU, graphics card, memory, hard drive, etc.
A. Pay attention to CPU orientation.
Note the alignment key on the motherboard CPU socket and the notch on the CPU. The triangle mark indicates pin 1.

Important: Do not force the CPU socket retention lever if the CPU is not installed correctly. Doing so may damage the CPU and CPU socket.
B. CPU Installation
Follow the steps below to correctly install the CPU into the motherboard CPU socket:
- Gently press down the CPU socket lever handle to release the CPU from the socket.
- Lift the CPU socket retention lever completely.
- While the plastic protective cover is still attached to the metal load plate, use the finger tabs on the side of the plate to lift and open the plate.
- Hold the CPU by its edges. Align the CPU's pin 1 indicator (triangle) with the pin 1 on the CPU socket (or align the CPU notches with the socket alignment keys). Slowly insert the CPU into place.
- Once the CPU is properly seated, close the load plate. If the plastic protective cover pops out, remove the CPU and reinstall it. Secure the lever under the retention tab to complete the CPU installation.
Important: If the CPU is not installed correctly, do not force the CPU socket retention lever. This may damage the CPU and CPU socket.
* To protect the CPU socket, always reinstall the plastic protective cover if the CPU is not installed.
C. CPU Cooler Installation
The CPU cooler must be installed after the CPU is mounted. (The actual installation process may vary depending on the CPU cooler used. Refer to the CPU cooler's user manual.)
- Apply a thin, even layer of thermal grease to the surface of the installed CPU.
- Place the cooler over the CPU, aligning the four push pins with the pin holes on the motherboard. Press the push pins down diagonally.
- Finally, connect the CPU cooler's power connector to the CPU fan header (CPU_FAN) on the motherboard.
2-4 Memory Installation
Follow these instructions before installing memory modules:
- Ensure the motherboard supports the memory. It is recommended to use memory modules of the same capacity, brand, speed, and chips. (Refer to the GIGABYTE website for the latest supported memory speeds and memory modules.)
- To prevent hardware damage, turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the outlet before installing memory modules.
- Memory modules are designed to prevent errors. They can only be installed in one direction. If you cannot insert the memory, try reversing the direction.
Dual-Channel Memory Configuration
This motherboard provides two memory slots and supports dual-channel technology. After the memory is installed, the BIOS will automatically detect the memory specifications and capacity. Using dual-channel memory modules will double the original memory bandwidth.
The two memory slots are divided into two channels, each with one memory slot:
- Channel A: DDR5_A1©, DDR4_1®
- Channel B: DDR5_B1©, DDR4_2®
Please read the following guidelines before installing memory modules in dual-channel mode, as CPU limitations may apply:
- Dual-channel mode cannot be used if only one memory module is installed.
- If using dual-channel mode with two memory modules, it is recommended to use modules with the same capacity, brand, speed, and chips.

2-5 Expansion Card Installation
Follow these instructions before installing expansion cards:
- Ensure the motherboard supports the expansion card. Read the manual included with the expansion card carefully.
- To prevent hardware damage, turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the outlet before installing expansion cards.
Follow the steps below to correctly install an expansion card into an expansion slot:
- Locate the expansion slot that supports the card. Remove the metal slot cover from the rear panel of the PC case.
- Align the card with the slot and press down firmly until the card is fully seated in the slot.
- Ensure the expansion card is fully seated in the slot.
- Secure the metal bracket of the card to the rear panel of the PC case with a screw.
- Once all expansion cards are installed, close the PC case cover.
- Turn on the computer. If necessary, enter BIOS Setup to change the required BIOS settings for the expansion card.
- Install the drivers provided with the expansion card into the operating system.

2-6 Rear Panel Connectors
The diagram illustrates the rear panel connectors:
- PS/2 Keyboard and PS/2 Mouse Port: Connect the PS/2 mouse to the green port (top) and the PS/2 keyboard to the purple port (bottom).
- D-Sub Port: Supports 15-pin D-Sub connector and a maximum resolution of 1920x1200@60 Hz (actual resolution depends on the monitor used). Connect a D-Sub compatible monitor to this port.
- DVI-D Port (Caution): Complies with the DVI-D standard and supports a maximum resolution of 1920x1200@60 Hz (actual resolution depends on the monitor used). Connect a DVI-D compatible monitor to this port.
- DisplayPort: A next-generation interface technology that provides high-quality digital imaging and audio, and supports bidirectional audio transmission. DisplayPort may support the HDCP 2.3 content protection mechanism. This port can be used for connecting a DisplayPort-supported monitor. Note: DisplayPort technology can support resolutions up to 4096x2304@60 Hz, but the actual supported resolution depends on the monitor in use.
- HDMI Port: The HDMI port complies with HDCP 2.3 and supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio formats. It also supports up to 192 KHz/24bit 7.1-channel LPCM audio output. This port can be used for connecting an HDMI-supported monitor. The maximum supported resolution is 4096x2160@60 Hz, but the actual resolution may vary depending on the monitor in use.
- To set up triple display configurations, you must first install the motherboard drivers in the operating system.
- After installing DisplayPort/HDMI devices, ensure that the default audio playback device is set to DisplayPort/HDMI. (The item name may vary depending on your operating system.)
- USB 2.0/1.1 Ports: These ports support the USB 2.0/1.1 standard. Use these ports for USB devices.
- USB 3.2 Gen 1 Ports: These ports support the USB 3.2 Gen 1 specification and are compatible with the USB 2.0 specification. Use these ports for USB devices.
(Caution) The DVI-D port does not support D-Sub connection via adapter.
! When removing cables connected to rear panel connectors, remove the cable from the device first, then from the motherboard. Pull the cable straight out of the connector. Do not pull the cable sideways to prevent short circuits inside the connector.
2-7 Internal Connectors
The diagram shows the internal connectors on the motherboard:
- 1) ATX_12V_2X4: 8-pin ATX 12V power connector.
- 2) ATX: 24-pin ATX main power connector.
- 3) CPU_FAN: CPU fan header.
- 4) SYS_FAN1/SYS_FAN2: System fan headers.
- 5) LED_C: RGB LED strip header.
- 6) SATA3 4/5/6/7: SATA 6Gb/s connectors.
- 7) M2P_SB: M.2 Socket 3 connector.
- 8) F_PANEL: Front panel header.
- 9) F_AUDIO: Front panel audio header.
- 10) F_U32: USB 3.2 Gen 1 header.
- 11) F_USB1/F_USB2: USB 2.0/1.1 headers.
- 12) COM: Serial port header.
- 13) SPI_TPM: SPI TPM header.
- 14) CLR_CMOS: CMOS clear jumper.
- 15) BAT: Battery connector.
Before connecting external devices, please read the following instructions:
- First, ensure that the device you intend to connect is compatible with the connector.
- Turn off the device and the computer before installing any device. Unplug the power cord from the outlet to prevent device damage.
- After installing the device, ensure that the device cable is securely connected to the motherboard connector before turning on the computer.
1/2) ATX_12V_2X4/ATX(2x4 12V Power Connector and 2x12 Main Power Connector)
The power connectors allow the power supply unit to provide stable power to all components on the motherboard. Before connecting the power connectors, ensure the power supply is turned off and all devices are installed correctly. The power connectors are designed to prevent errors. Connect the power supply cable to the power connector in the correct orientation.
The 12V power connector primarily supplies power to the CPU. The computer cannot start if the 12V power connector is not connected.
For extended use, a power supply unit capable of handling high power consumption (500W or more) is recommended. If a power supply unit that does not provide sufficient power is used, the system may become unstable or may not boot.

3/4) CPU_FAN/SYS_FAN1/SYS_FAN2 (Fan Headers)
All fan headers on this motherboard are 4-pin. Most fan headers are designed to prevent incorrect insertion. Connect the fan cable in the correct orientation (the black wire on the connector is the ground wire). To use the speed control function, you must use a fan that supports speed control. For optimal heat dissipation, it is recommended to install system fans inside the PC case.

! Ensure that fan cables are connected to the fan headers to prevent CPU or system overheating. Overheating can cause CPU damage or system failure.
* This fan header is not a configuration jumper block. Do not place a jumper cap on the header.
5) LED_C (RGB LED Strip Header)
This header can be used to connect standard 5050 RGB LED strips (12V/G/R/B). The rated power is 2A (12V) and the maximum length is 2m.
The diagram shows the pin assignments for the RGB LED strip header.
Connect the RGB LED strip to the header. The power pin of the RGB LED strip (indicated by a triangle on the plug) must be connected to pin 1 (12V) on this header. Incorrect connection may damage the LED strip.

! Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the outlet before installing any device to prevent device damage.
6) SATA3 4/5/6/7 (SATA 6Gb/s Connectors)
SATA connectors comply with the SATA 6Gb/s standard and are compatible with SATA 3Gb/s and SATA 1.5Gb/s standards. Each SATA connector supports a single SATA device.

7) M2P_SB (M.2 Socket 3 Connector)
The M.2 connector on the motherboard supports M.2 PCIe SSDs only.
Follow the steps below to correctly install an M.2 SSD into the M.2 connector:
- Step 1: Locate the correct mounting hole for installing the M.2 SSD and install the mounting clip first.
- Step 2: Pull up the clip's tab to remove it from the mounting hole. Slide the M.2 SSD into the connector at an angle.
- Step 3: Press down the M.2 SSD and then press the clip's tab to secure it in the mounting hole.
* Types of M.2 SSDs supported by the M.2 connector:
The table indicates support for M.2 PCIe x4 SSD and M.2 PCIe x2 SSD, but not M.2 SATA SSD for the M2P_SB connector.
8) F_PANEL (Front Panel Header)
Connect the PC case's front panel power switch, reset switch, speaker, PC case intrusion switch/sensor, and system status LEDs to this header according to the pin assignments below. Pay attention to the polarity of the front panel connectors before connecting the cables.

- PLED/PWR_LED (Power LED): Connects to the power status indicator on the front panel of the PC case. The LED lights up when the system is operating. The LED turns off when the system is in S3/S4 sleep state or powered off (S5).
- PW (Power Switch): Connects to the power switch on the front panel of the PC case. You can configure the system to turn off using the power switch. (For details, refer to the GIGABYTE website and search for "Soft-Off by PWR-BTTN" on the "BIOS Setup (BIOS Settings)" page.)
- SPEAK (Speaker): Connects to the speaker on the front panel of the PC case. The system provides audible feedback for system startup status. A short beep indicates a successful system startup.
- HD (Hard Drive Activity LED): Connects to the hard drive activity LED on the front panel of the PC case. The LED lights up when the hard drive is reading or writing data.
- RES (Reset Switch): Connects to the reset switch on the front panel of the PC case. If the computer stops responding and cannot be restarted normally, press the reset switch.
- CI (PC Case Intrusion Header): Connects to the PC case intrusion switch/sensor that detects if the PC case cover has been removed. This feature requires a PC case with a PC case intrusion switch/sensor.
- NC: No connection.
The front panel design may vary depending on the PC case. The front panel module typically consists of a power switch, reset switch, power LED, hard drive activity LED, speaker, etc. When connecting the front panel module to the header, ensure that the wire assignments and pin assignments match correctly.
9) F_AUDIO (Front Panel Audio Header)
The front panel audio header supports high-definition audio. You can connect the front panel audio module of the PC case to this header. Ensure that the wire assignments of the module connector match the pin assignments of the motherboard header. Incorrect connection of the module connector and the motherboard header may result in the device not functioning or being damaged.

Some PC cases provide front panel audio modules with separate connectors instead of a single plug for each wire. For information on connecting front panel audio modules with different wire assignments, please contact the PC case manufacturer.
10) F_U32 (USB 3.2 Gen 1 Header)
This header is compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 specifications and can provide two USB ports. For optional specifications, you can purchase a 3.5-inch front panel that provides two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports from your nearest dealer.

11) F_USB1/F_USB2 (USB 2.0/1.1 Header)
This header complies with the USB 2.0/1.1 standard. Each USB header provides two USB ports through an optional USB bracket. Please contact your local dealer for information on purchasing the optional USB bracket.

! To prevent damage to the USB bracket, turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the outlet before installing the USB bracket.
12) COM (Serial Port Header)
The COM header provides a serial port that connects via an optional COM port cable. Please contact your local dealer for information on purchasing the optional COM port cable.

13) SPI_TPM (Trusted Platform Module Header)
You can connect an SPI TPM (Trusted Platform Module) to this header.

14) CLR_CMOS (Clear CMOS Jumper)
This jumper allows you to clear BIOS settings and reset CMOS values to factory defaults. To clear CMOS values, use a metal object such as a screwdriver to short the two pins for a few seconds.

! Always turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the outlet before clearing CMOS values.
* After the system restarts, enter BIOS Setup and load factory defaults (select "Load Optimized Defaults") or manually configure BIOS settings. For details, refer to the "BIOS Setup (BIOS Setup)" page on the GIGABYTE website and search for "Load Optimized Defaults".
15) BAT (Battery)
The battery provides power to maintain CMOS values (BIOS settings, date, and time information, etc.) when the computer is turned off. Replace the battery if its voltage drops to a low level, otherwise, CMOS values may become inaccurate or lost.
You can clear CMOS values by removing the battery:
- Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord.
- Remove the battery from the battery holder and wait for 1 minute. (Alternatively, use a metal object like a screwdriver to short the positive and negative terminals of the battery holder for 5 seconds.)
- Replace the battery.
- Connect the power cord and restart the computer.
! Always turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the outlet before replacing the battery.
* Replace the battery with an equivalent one. Replacing the battery with a different type may damage the device.
* If you cannot replace the battery yourself or are unsure about the battery model, please contact your place of purchase or local dealer.
* When installing the battery, pay attention to the orientation of the battery's positive (+) and negative (-) sides (the positive side should face upwards).
* Dispose of used batteries in accordance with local environmental regulations.
Chapter 3: BIOS Installation
BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) records the motherboard's hardware parameters in the CMOS. Its main functions include system startup, saving system parameters, and the Power-On Self-Test (POST) function during operating system loading. BIOS includes a setup program that allows users to change basic system configuration settings or enable specific system functions.
The motherboard's battery provides the necessary power to the CMOS to preserve configuration values when the power is off.
To access the BIOS Setup program, press the <Delete> key during POST after powering on the computer.
To upgrade the BIOS, use GIGABYTE Q-Flash or the @BIOS utility.
- Q-Flash allows users to quickly and easily upgrade or back up the BIOS without entering the operating system.
- @BIOS is a Windows-based utility that searches for and downloads the latest BIOS version from the internet and updates the BIOS.
For instructions on using Q-Flash and @BIOS utilities, please visit the GIGABYTE website and refer to the "Unique Features (Utilities)" page and search for "BIOS Update Utilities (BIOS Update Utilities)".
! Flashing the BIOS is potentially risky. If your current BIOS version is stable and has no issues, it is not recommended to flash the BIOS. If you choose to flash the BIOS, do so with caution. Improper BIOS flashing can cause system failure.
- It is recommended not to modify default settings unless necessary to prevent system instability or other unexpected results. Incorrectly modifying settings may prevent the system from booting. In such cases, try clearing the CMOS values and resetting the board to default settings.
- For information on how to clear CMOS values, refer to the Battery/CMOS Clear Jumper section in Chapter 2, or visit the GIGABYTE website, go to the "BIOS Setup (BIOS Settings)" page, and search for "Load Optimized Defaults".

Chapter 4: Operating System and Driver Installation
Once the correct BIOS settings are configured, you are ready to install the operating system. After installing the operating system, a dialog box will appear on the bottom right of the desktop asking if you want to download and install drivers and GIGABYTE applications via APP Center. Click "Install" to proceed with the installation. (In BIOS settings, ensure that "Settings\IO Ports\APP Center Download & Install Configuration\APP Center Download & Install" is set to Enabled.)

If the End User License Agreement dialog box appears, press <Accept> to install APP Center. Select the drivers and applications you want to install on the APP Center screen and click Install.

Ensure that the system is connected to the internet before installation.
