Installers: To Avoid Damage to Oven or Floor
General Precautions
- Do not remove side door spacers until the oven is ready for installation. Removing them can allow the door to shift, potentially damaging the door latch. Spacers are included on some models.
- Do not remove the oven from its bottom base pad until it is ready for installation. Placing the oven directly on the floor can cause floor damage.
- Do not lift or move the oven by its door handle(s) or control panel.
- Before installing the oven, you must remove the oven door(s). Prepare a flat, protected surface for the door(s), such as a soft blanket or the original packaging's corner post.
Removing the Oven Door
Follow these steps to safely remove the oven door:
- Fully open the oven door. Identify the door hinges, which are initially in a "Locked position". To unlock, pull the designated area on the hinge.
- Repeat the hinge unlocking procedure for the other door hinge.
- Gently begin to close the oven door. It will stop at a partially closed angle, approximately 45 degrees.
- With both hands, grip the sides of the oven door. Continue to close the door slightly beyond its stopping point to reduce the load on the hinges.
- Lift the oven door straight up and away from the oven cavity. Gentle side-to-side movements may assist in removal.
Replacing the Oven Door
Follow these steps to safely reinstall the oven door:
- Ensure the door hinges are in the "Unlocked position".
- Grasp the edges of the oven door with both hands and align the hinges with the slots in the oven cavity.
- Insert the hinges into the oven cavity slots. You might need to gently move the door side-to-side as you push it into place.
- Verify that the hinge notch is correctly seated at the bottom of the oven cavity slot. IMPORTANT: Do not close the door at this point to prevent hinge damage.
- Open the oven door fully again.
- Move the door hinges from the "Unlocked position" to the "Locked position".
- Once the hinges are locked, carefully swing the door upward to close it. The door should close smoothly without force.
- Check that the hinges are securely locked. If resistance is felt during closing, re-check the hinge locking mechanism.
