Safety Instructions
General Safety:
- Do not use gas other than that specified on the label attached.
- Do not place anything, e.g., flame tamer, asbestos mat, between the pan and pan support, as this may cause serious damage to the appliance. (See Figure 1: Illustration showing a pan placed directly on the pan support, with a warning against using flame tamers or asbestos mats between the pan and support.)
- Do not remove the pan support and enclose the burner with a wok stand not supplied by Electrolux, as this will concentrate the flame and deflect the heat onto the top plate. (See Figure 2: Illustration showing a wok stand not supplied by Electrolux enclosing the burner, with a warning about concentrating flame and deflecting heat onto the top plate.)
- Do not use large pots or heavy weights that can bend the pan support or deflect the flame onto the top plate. (See Figure 3: Illustration showing a large or heavy pot that bends the pan support, with a warning about deflecting flame onto the top plate.)
- Locate the pan centrally over the burner so that it is stable and does not overheat the appliance. (See Figure 4: Illustration showing a pan placed centrally over the burner for stability.)
- Use only the wok support supplied or recommended by the manufacturer. (See Figure 5: Illustration showing the correct wok support or trivet for flat-bottom pots.)
- The unit is for cooking only. Do not dry towels, clothes, etc., over it, as this poses a fire hazard.
- If a gas leak is found, close the stopcock, open all windows, and call your dealer. Do not turn electric switches on or off, light a match, smoke, or use a lighter.
- Use the appliance in a well-ventilated room.
- Do not use vinyl gas hose; it can soften due to heat. Use only a rubber hose.
- Turn off the ignition knob and cylinder regulator after use.
- Avoid touching the burner, pan stand, etc., immediately after use to prevent burns.
- Ensure the rubber hose does not touch any part of the unit or lie underneath it.
- Connect the rubber hose to the gas inlet and fasten it with a hose clamp.
- The pan stand leg nearest to the flame may discolor after use; this is normal.
WARNING:
- In the event of the burner flames being accidentally extinguished, turn off the burner control knob and do not attempt to re-ignite the burner for at least 1 minute.
- For burners fitted with a flame supervision device, if the burner has not lit after 15 seconds of ignition operation, stop operating the device, open the compartment door, and wait at least 1 minute before attempting further ignition.

Operation
Ignition Burners:
- Check that the gas supply is accessible and properly connected.
- Turn all control knobs to the off position.
- The device has a safety tap for gas flow control. The dot on the knob aligns with symbols on the panel to indicate conditions.
- To turn off the gas, rotate the knob anticlockwise until a click is felt and the indicator points to "0".
- To ignite, hold and depress the knob, then rotate anticlockwise to the maximum gas flow position. For models with a thermocouple, keep the knob depressed for 5-8 seconds, otherwise the flame will extinguish.
- If the burner does not light on the first attempt, repeat Step 4.
- If the flame extinguishes suddenly, repeat Step 4.
- When using the unit again immediately after turning it off, wait about ten seconds before re-igniting.
- Each burner has its own independent ignitor.
- When the burner is lit, turn the knob to adjust the flame size as needed without depressing it.
- For burners with a flame supervision device, if the burner does not light after 15 seconds of operation, stop the device, wait at least 1 minute, and then attempt ignition again.
Choosing a Burner:
- A semi-rapid burner is for low heat, simmering, and slow cooking.
- A wok burner is for fast heating using a wok or large pan.
Note: A wide-bottomed pan allows faster cooking than a narrow one.
Using the Hob Correctly:
- For maximum burner efficiency, use pots and pans with a bottom size matching the burner, so the flame does not spread beyond the pan base (See Table 1).
- As soon as liquid starts boiling, lower the flame to maintain a simmer.
- Covering boiling casseroles is advisable.
