Lithium Battery Replacement:
The unit has a backup lithium battery (CR2032 or equivalent) to maintain memory during power outages. The LOW BATT indicator will flash when replacement is needed. To replace:
- Disconnect AC power (though the manual implies it should remain connected for memory). Keep AC connected to maintain memory during replacement.
- Use a small screwdriver to remove the screw securing the battery holder.
- Remove the old battery and insert the new one, observing correct polarity (+).
- Slide the holder back and replace the screw.
WARNING: DANGER OF EXPLOSION IF BATTERY IS INCORRECTLY REPLACED. REPLACE ONLY WITH THE SAME OR EQUIVALENT TYPE.
Resetting the Clock After Memory Loss
If the backup battery is exhausted and AC power is interrupted, the clock may reset to its default (e.g., 12:00 AM, Sunday, January 1st, 2017). If the time and date display appears incorrect (e.g., Jan 1st), replace the lithium battery and then reset the time, date, and year manually using the TIME, MONTH/DATE, and SET +/- buttons. Remember to also reset alarm and sleep timer settings.
