Caring For Your Coffee Maker

Regular cleaning ensures smooth operation. Always turn off and unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.

Coffee Maker Exterior

Clean metal areas with a paper towel and non-vinegar glass cleaner. Clean plastic parts with a damp, soapy, lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Never immerse the coffee maker in water or other liquids.

Drip Tray

The drip tray holds up to 237 ml / 8 oz of overflow. Empty and clean it occasionally. Slide it towards you, keeping it level to avoid spilling. Clean with a damp, soapy, lint-free, non-abrasive cloth.

Water Reservoir

Wipe the inside of the reservoir and the underside of the lid with a damp, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth. Do not dry with a cloth as lint may remain. Allow the reservoir to dry completely.

Regular Maintenance

For optimal performance and taste, follow this maintenance schedule:

Frequency Product Benefit
Every 2 months Keurig Water Filters Keeps water fresh and clean for enhanced coffee taste.
Every 3 months or when Descale notification appears* Keurig Descaling Solution Eliminates mineral buildup for better taste and coffee maker longevity.

*To turn off the Descale notification, follow the full descaling procedure.

Descaling Your Coffee Maker

Descale your coffee maker every 3 months or when the descale notification appears. This procedure helps maintain performance by removing calcium deposits and scale.

Descaling Procedure

Before you begin: You will need a large ceramic mug, fresh water, Keurig Descaling Solution, and access to a sink. Allow approximately 15-20 minutes.

STEP 1: Prepare the Coffee Maker When the 'Descale' notification appears, press the left arrow and select 'CONTINUE'. Follow on-screen prompts. If the notification is not visible, open Settings (press both arrows) and select 'Descale Mode'.

Note: Remove the water filter from the reservoir if applicable.

STEP 2: Descale the Coffee Maker Empty and rinse the water reservoir. Pour the entire bottle of Keurig Descaling Solution into the reservoir. Fill the empty bottle with water and pour it into the reservoir. Do not insert a K-Cup pod. Place a large mug on the drip tray.

Press the blinking BREW button to dispense 355 ml / 12 oz of hot water. Discard the water and replace the mug. Repeat this process until the water reservoir is empty and the screen displays 'ADD WATER'.

STEP 3: Fresh Water Rinse Rinse the water reservoir and refill it to the max fill line with fresh water. Ensure the mug is on the drip tray. Press the blinking BREW button to begin the fresh water rinse. Discard the hot liquid. Repeat this step until the screen displays 'DESCALE COMPLETE'.

Note: The descaling solution may cause foaming, which is normal. If the coffee maker does not fill properly after adding the solution, turn it off, unplug it, discard the solution, rinse the reservoir, refill with water, and repeat the rinse cycle. If the issue persists, let the coffee maker sit unplugged for 30 minutes before continuing.

Troubleshooting

Grounds in Your Coffee

Clean the exit needle in the K-Cup Pod Holder and the coffee maker's entrance needles using a straightened paper clip. For optimal results, perform 2 cleansing brews after cleaning.

Excessive Grounds in K-Cup Pod Assembly Housing

Do not use already-punctured pods, as this can cause grounds to escape.

Coffee Maker Will Not Close or Brew with My K-Cup

Older My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filters may not be compatible. Ensure your filter has five holes on the lid.

Recommended Brew Settings Not Provided or K-Cup Pod Not Recognized

Ensure your coffee maker is connected to Wi-Fi to enable BrewID™. Use only Genuine Keurig K-Cup pods. If a pod is already punctured, it may not be recognized. Try an unpunctured pod. If the issue persists, contact Customer Service.

Coffee Maker Does Not Have Power or Shuts Off

  • Plug the coffee maker into its own grounded outlet. Avoid overloading the circuit with other appliances.
  • The coffee maker automatically turns off after 5 minutes for energy savings.
  • If there is no power, contact Customer Service.

How do I connect my coffee maker if I skipped connecting it out of the box?

Download the Keurig app and select 'Get Connected' to create an account. If the app is already installed, go to Settings, select 'Connect a Coffee Maker', then 'Get Started'. Scan the QR code on the back of the coffee maker. On the coffee maker, open Settings (press both arrows), navigate to Wi-Fi settings, press the 'K' button, then the right arrow to 'Connect'. Tap 'LINK' in the app and follow the instructions.

Coffee Maker Will Not Brew

If the 'add water' warning appears, refill the water reservoir. A minimum of 177 ml / 6 oz of water is required; add an extra 59 ml / 2 oz to ensure the minimum fill level is met. Press BREW. Repeat until dispensing begins. Ensure the water reservoir is properly seated. If the warning persists, contact Customer Service.

Brewing a Partial Cup

Check for clogs in the exit needle or K-Cup Pod Holder. If the issue persists after descaling twice, contact Customer Service.

Helpful Hints

For better taste, use filtered or bottled water. Do not use distilled water.

Service

This coffee maker is not user-serviceable. Refer to the Warranty section for service information.

Storage

Empty the water reservoir before storing or transporting. Store in a safe, frost-free environment. Before using after storage, rinse the reservoir with fresh water and descale the coffee maker.

If moving the coffee maker to a new location, turn it off, unplug it, and empty the water reservoir. If the coffee maker has been exposed to freezing temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature for at least 2 hours before use.
