Introduction to Setup
Setting Up Your Watch
To wake up and charge your watch, connect it to a USB power source using the included cable. The magnetic connector snaps into place. Ensure the alignment is correct. Charging may take some time before the battery status is displayed.
You can set up your watch using one of three methods:
- Method A (Mobile Device & Polar Flow App): Ideal for setting up on the go, requires an internet connection.
- Method B (Computer Setup): Faster setup and charging, requires a computer and internet connection.
- Method C (On-Watch Setup): Use this if you don't have a compatible mobile device or computer readily available. Note that firmware updates are best done via Polar Flow.
For the best experience and access to all Polar features, it is recommended to use Method A or B for initial setup and firmware updates.
Button Functions and Gestures
The watch has five buttons with different functions depending on the mode. Refer to the manual for a detailed breakdown of button operations.
Activity Tracking
The watch tracks your daily activity, including steps, active time, and calories burned. The progress circle on the watch face shows your progress towards your daily activity goal.
Cardio Load Status
Understand your short-term training load (Strain) and long-term training load (Tolerance) to gauge your fitness level. The Cardio Load Status indicates whether you are undertrained, maintaining, productive, or overreaching.
Detailed insights into your Strain, Tolerance, and overall Cardio Load Status are available in the Polar Flow app and web service. For more information, refer to Training Load Pro.
