Setup
Follow these steps to set up your EZVIZ Video Doorphone system:
- Get the EZVIZ app and log in to your account.
- Wire your system.
- Install the Intercom Panel and Monitor.
- Add the monitor to your EZVIZ account.
1. Get the EZVIZ App
- Connect your mobile phone to Wi-Fi (recommended).
- Download and install the EZVIZ app by searching "EZVIZ" in the App Store or Google Play™.
- Launch the app and register an EZVIZ user account. Ensure you are using the latest version of the app.
2. Wiring
To avoid interference and malfunction, do not pass video doorphone wires through the same sheath as electrical wires.
Do not double up wires to increase cross-section.
The system requires connections for power, the intercom panel, and optionally an electric strike plate or gate motor.
- Monitor Power: Connect the included Power Adapter (AC 100-240V) to the monitor's power port.
- Alternative Monitor Power (DC 24V): If a DC 24V power supply is available, use the included DC 24V power supply Jack connector cable. Connect the Red (+24V DC) wire to the wall's +24V DC wire and the Black (Ground) wire to the wall's Ground wire. Ensure all connections are secure before plugging into the monitor's power port.
Recommended wire specifications for different distances:
Connection Type | Wire Gauge | Max Distance |
---|---|---|
Monitor to Intercom Panel (DB terminals) | 2 x 0.75mm² | 50m |
Monitor to Intercom Panel (DB terminals) | 2 x 1.5mm² | 100m |
Twisted Pair (TP) | - | 120m |
Electric Strike Plate / Lock | 1 x 1.0mm² | 10m |
Gate Motor | 1 x 1.5mm² | 10m |
Ensure all wires are well connected before plugging in the power adapter.
Connecting the Video Doorphone:
- Connect the DB- and DB+ terminals of the monitor to the corresponding DB- and DB+ terminals on the intercom panel.
Connecting an Electric Strike Plate or Lock:
- Connect directly to the LOCK- and LOCK+ terminals on the back of the intercom panel.
- Important: The electric strike plate or lock must have a mechanical memory. The power supply must not exceed 12V/1.1A. If it exceeds this, use a relay with a 12V coil and NO contact.
- This function is active when the exterior video feed is displayed.
Connecting a Gate Motor:
- Directly connect the gate motor wires to the GATE- and GATE+ terminals on the back of the intercom panel.
- The intercom panel provides a dry-contact connection for automated gate opening.
- Important: Breaking Capacity: 12V/2A.
- This function is active when the exterior video feed is displayed.
Powering on the Monitor:
- Connect the monitor to a power outlet using the power adapter (AC 100-240V). The screen will turn on automatically.
Handling Large Cable Diameters (BVR Cable):
If your home wires have a large diameter and cannot be easily connected to terminal blocks:
- Option 1: Use a wire stripper to adjust the thickness of the cable end before connecting.
- Option 2: Use the included wires and wire connectors to extend/adapt your existing wires before connecting to the terminal blocks.
3. Installation
Advice: Do not test the Intercom Panel and Monitor in the same room before installation to avoid shrill noise.
Do not expose the intercom panel lens to direct sunlight or reflective surfaces.
Use a protective sheath for cabling to protect against breakage and weather.
For EZVIZ models with Wi-Fi, ensure Wi-Fi is accessible at the planned installation location.
Installing the Intercom Panel:
- Remove screws under the intercom panel and tilt it forward.
- Mount the weather-proof shield to the wall using anchors and screws, ensuring wires pass through the shield and drill template. The panel lens should be at a height of approximately 1.60m.
- Connect wires to the terminal blocks on the intercom panel.
- Fit the intercom panel onto its weather-proof shield.
- Re-install the attachment screws.
- Important: Remove the protective film from the intercom panel lens for better image quality.
Installing the Monitor:
- Place the monitor drill template on the wall, positioning the screen at approximately 1.60m above the ground.
- Feed wires through the drill template and wall bracket, then fix the wall bracket to the wall with anchors and screws.
- Connect wires from the intercom panel and the power adapter to the monitor's back ports. Do not plug the adapter into the wall outlet yet.
- Place the monitor onto the wall bracket.
- Plug the power adapter into the wall outlet.
