Installation
Start the Dismount
To begin the installation, remove the front door panel cover. Use plastic pry tools to avoid scratching panels or damaging clips.
If your door has a corner cover, remove it first, followed by the tweeter cover. The corner cover is typically attached with 2 clips, and the tweeter cover with 2 or 3 clips.
Remove the electric window panel and disconnect its plug. Always use plastic pry tools for panels and interior parts to protect surfaces.
Remove the door lock knob before removing the door panel.
Depending on the car model, screw count and placement may vary. Torx T25 screws are commonly used.
The door panel has several electric and mechanical connectors on the back. Release the door lock cable.
Disconnect all cables, including lighting, speaker harness, and other connections. Be careful when removing door panels and lids; use pry tools.
Some newer models use plastic clips instead of screws to hold the door panel. Remove screws and gently lift the panel upwards. Be mindful of the door lock knob.
Remove Woofer
Door speakers are secured with either rivets or screws. Ensure you have the correct tools for each method.
For Rivets: Use a 4mm drill to remove rivets. Ensure all remnants of old rivets are cleared from the inside of the door. Drill only enough to remove the rivet heads. Disconnect the speaker harness before removing the speaker.
For Screws: Unscrew the speakers using the correct tools. Retain the original screws for mounting the new DLS speakers.
Mounting Speakers
Mounting with Screws: If speakers were screw-mounted, use the original OEM screws to secure the new DLS speakers. Ensure the correct screw bit is used. Place the new DLS driver into the speaker opening and fasten with screws.
Mounting with Rivets: If speakers were rivet-mounted, DLS recommends using the provided rivet tool and rivets. Place the new DLS driver into the speaker opening. Use the rivet tool to securely mount the driver. This may require multiple steps (insert rivet, plug in tool, press handles, remove pin).
Connect the speaker harness. Begin reassembling the door panel and reconnect all wire harnesses.
Important Hint: Connect the tweeter cable (with crossover) to the OEM harness before reassembling the door panel. Place the crossover behind the door panel. Use the provided foam pads to wrap cables and the crossover to prevent rattling.
Change Tweeter
Remove the tweeter cover, typically secured by 2 or 3 clips. Use a pry tool gently to detach it. Disconnect the speaker harness from the tweeter.
To remove the OEM tweeter, use a snap-off blade knife or cutting nipper to carefully remove the top of the plastic pin holding it. Ensure all material from the pin used to fix the OEM tweeter is removed.
Attach the 3M double-sided adhesive tape to the sound-optimized tweeter bracket. Mount the new DLS tweeter into the bracket. Peel off the protective plastic from the 3M tape and place the bracket into the OEM tweeter cover. Press firmly to secure the bracket.
Final Assembly and Running-in
Connect the crossover using the PnP connector. Use the remaining adhesive foam to secure the crossover and cables.
The yellow cable loop on the crossover allows tweeter level selection for fine-tuning high frequencies: Closed loop = -4dB, Open loop = Normal.
Final Assembly: Connect all plugs to the door cover. Reconnect the unlocking device. Position the door cover from the top, aligning with the window seal, and gently push it down. Ensure all clips engage correctly. Secure the door panel by pushing it by hand. Mount and fasten all screws in their correct places, ensuring no screws or clips are left over. Reconnect the battery/power source terminal.
Now, enjoy your new sound system!
Running-in Time
Allow the component kit to play for at least 15-20 hours for optimal performance. This can be done with tone sweeps or music. Start at a moderate volume and gradually increase it during the running-in period. After 15-20 hours, the performance and characteristics will be optimized.

Impedance VS Frequency Graph
A graph displays impedance in Ohms on the Y-axis and frequency in Hertz on the X-axis. The impedance curve shows a peak around 100-200 Hz, then drops to around 2 Ohms, and rises again towards higher frequencies.
Dimensions
Diagrams show the physical dimensions of the speaker components. The main woofer unit has an outer diameter of approximately 171.5 mm, a mounting depth of approximately 68.6 mm, and a cutout diameter of approximately 145 mm (implied by 0171.5 and 0183.9 outer dimensions). The tweeter unit has dimensions of 66.5 mm (width) x 41.5 mm (height) x 23.5 mm (depth).
