1.0 WEBCAM OVERVIEW
The webcam features a Lens, a Microphone, and Lights. It is equipped with a Tripod-Ready Base and a Universal Clip for mounting.

Note: Do not use a USB HUB for power supply to prevent failure in using the Webcam.

3.0 SETTING UP YOUR WEBCAM
3.1 For Mac OS X Users
The HD Webcam eMeet C980/HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro will be automatically installed when connected to a Mac; no additional software is required. You will need to open camera software such as Quick Time, Photo Booth, Skype, or Face Time to start streaming video. Quick Time and Photo Booth are preinstalled on all Macs.
To check if the webcam is detected, click the Apple Menu (top left corner of your screen), then click 'About This Mac'. Click 'System Report' from the pop-up window. In the System Information window, navigate to the USB Section and check if the webcam is listed as a connected device, appearing as "HD Webcam eMeet C980/HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro".
3.1.1 Photo Booth
Your system should automatically detect the Webcam in Photo Booth if it has no internal camera. If not, try disconnecting and reconnecting the camera after Photo Booth is running, or restart your Mac.
If your Mac has a built-in camera, open Photo Booth, click 'Camera' (top left), and choose "HD Webcam eMeet C980/HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro" to use this webcam.
3.1.2 Face Time
Ensure your Mac meets Apple's guidelines for Face Time (OS X v10.5 installed, or OS X v10.4 with a built-in iSight camera). Your system should automatically detect the Webcam in Face Time.
If your Mac has a built-in camera, open Face Time, click 'Video' (top left), and choose "HD Webcam eMeet C980/HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro" to use this webcam.
When using FaceTime, to select the webcam's microphone, ensure "HD Webcam eMeet C980/HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro" is selected under the Microphone dropdown. Similarly, select the same option for the Camera dropdown.
3.1.3 Skype
Before running Skype, close all other applications using the webcam to ensure proper recognition. Updating Skype to the latest version is highly recommended.
After installing and starting Skype, select 'Preferences...' from the Skype menu (top left corner).
In the Audio/Video tab, select "HD Webcam eMeet C980/HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro" from both the Microphone and Camera dropdown menus.
eMeet recommends unchecking the "Automatically adjust microphone setting" option to prevent potential sound interruptions during calls. It is advised to initially set the volume slider slightly below the halfway point, with adjustments possible later.
Remember to save your changes before closing the window.
3.1.4 Setting up audio (Mac)
Ensure the eMeet webcam is selected as the input device in your application. Alternatively, go to Mac's System Preferences > Sound > Input tab to set the webcam's microphone ("HD Webcam eMeet C980/HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro") as your system default. You can manually adjust the input volume.
3.2 SETTING UP YOUR WEBCAM (Windows Users)
The eMeet Webcam is compatible with Windows Vista / 2000 / XP / Vista /7 /8/8.1/10.
3.2.1 Setting up the microphone (Win 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 & Vista)
- Open Control Panel from the Start menu and select the Hardware and Sound panel.
- In the Sound menu, click Manage Audio Devices, then select the Recording tab.
- Ensure "HD Webcam eMeet C980/HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro" is selected as the default device under Recording, and click OK to save.
- Adjust microphone volume via the Properties (Levels) setting in the Recording panel if it is too quiet or too loud.
3.2.2 Speaker Setup of HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro (Win 7/8/8.1/10 and Vista)
- Select Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound.
- Under the Sound tab, click Manage Audio Devices. Select the Playback tab.
- On the Playback tab, click HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro, then click the Set Default button. Click OK to save.
- Adjust speaker volume via the Properties (Levels) setting if it is too quiet or too loud.

4.1 Troubleshooting for Mac OS X Users
4.1.1 Webcam not recognized (OS X 10.4.2 or earlier)
If using an earlier version of OS X 10.4, install the free Apple Software Update to 10.4.3 or later for automatic webcam detection. Updating to the latest version is recommended for full Face Time webcam support.
4.1.2 Webcam not recognized (latest OS X)
Check if "HD Webcam eMeet C980/HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro" is listed in the System Report. If not, try the following:
- Quit all applications that may be using the camera.
- Open Terminal (found in /Applications/Utilities directory in OS X).
- Enter the following command strings exactly, then press Enter:
sudo killall VDCAssistant
- In the terminal, issue the command:
sudo killall AppleCameraAssistant
- Enter your administrator password when prompted.
- Relaunch the application that was attempting to use the camera.

4.2.1 Webcam Not Recognized by the System
- Right-click the Start button or Windows icon (bottom left corner of the desktop).

- If the device cannot be located, check the Webcam's connection to the PC. Try inserting the Webcam into another USB port, preferably one on the rear of the PC.

4.3 Other Issues
4.3.1 Blurry Pictures/Videos:
Ensure the subject is within a range of 5 cm to 5 m from the Webcam for optimal definition.
4.3.2 Nothing happens when plugging into the USB port:
Try a different USB port. eMeet recommends connecting webcams directly to a USB port on your computer, not through a USB hub.
4.3.3 Choppy Videos and Worse than Expected Frame Rate:
Insufficient lighting can decrease the captured frame rate and cause blurriness. Use the Webcam in a well-lit environment for the best results.
4.3.4 No Sound from HD Webcam eMeet C980 Pro:
Refer to section 3.2.2 in this manual for the solution. Do not use a USB HUB for power supply.
