X-Core Components
The X-Core controller display and buttons are as follows:
- Display Icons: Start Time Symbol, Station Number, Program Indicator, Month Symbol, Run Time Symbol, Seasonal Adjust (%), Station Running, Sprinkler Off Days, Odd/Even/Interval Days, Active Water Day, Non-Active Water Day, Day of Week, Rain Sensor Active/Bypass, Day Symbol.
- Control Buttons: System Off, Manual All Stations, Manual Single Station, Seasonal Adjust, Date/Time, Start Times, Run Times, Water Days, +/-, PRG, ►, ◄.
- Sensor Bypass Switch: Allows manual override of sensor functions.
Controller Setup
Setting the Current Date and Time
- Turn the dial to DATE/TIME.
- Adjust year with +/- buttons. Press ► to set month.
- Adjust month with +/- buttons. Press ► to set day.
- Adjust day with +/- buttons. Press ► to set time.
- Select AM/PM or 24 HR format with +/- buttons.
- Adjust hours with +/- buttons. Press ► to adjust minutes.
- Turn dial to RUN.
IMPORTANT: Controller dial must be in RUN position for automatic irrigation.
Scheduling Tips
- A program includes Start Time(s), Run Time(s), and Water Day(s).
- Start Time is when watering begins for stations in a program.
- Run Time is the duration of watering for each station.
- One Start Time is needed for the entire program.
Setting a Program Start Time
- Turn dial to START TIMES.
- Select program (A, B, or C) using PRG button.
- Adjust Start Time with +/- buttons (15-minute increments).
- Press ► to add another Start Time or select the next program.
- Turn dial to RUN.
Eliminating a Program Start Time
- Turn dial to START TIMES.
- Use right arrow to find the START TIME to eliminate.
- Press +/- buttons to set time to OFF (between 11:45 PM and 12:00 AM).
- Press PRG to view/edit additional programs. Repeat as needed.
Setting a Station Run Time
- Turn dial to RUN TIMES.
- Select program (A, B, or C) using PRG button.
- Adjust station run time (1 minute to 4 hours) with +/- buttons.
- Press ► to advance to the next station.
- Repeat for each station.
Setting Water Days
- Turn dial to WATER DAYS.
- Select program (A, B, or C). Use PRG to switch programs.
- Use +/- buttons to select or deselect watering days.
Selecting Odd or Even Days to Water
- Press ► past all days to ODD or EVEN.
- Use +/- to select or cancel ODD or EVEN.
Selecting Interval Watering
- Press past ODD and EVEN to INT.
- Use +/- to set interval days.
- Use +/- to set the number of days until next watering.
NOTE: To exit interval mode, press the or ◄ buttons repeatedly until specific days of the week appear.
Seasonal Adjust
Changes all run times by a percentage for local conditions.
- Press +/- to change from 10% to 150% of original run times.
Manual Single Station
- Turn dial to Manual Single Station.
- Select station using ►. Set run time with +/-.
- Turn dial to RUN to begin.
Manual Program
- Turn dial to RUN.
- Press and hold ► for three seconds.
- Select program with PRG.
- Release ► after two seconds to begin program.
- Press ► to advance to the next station.
One-Touch Manual Start and Advance
- Hold the right button for two seconds.
- Select program with PRG.
- Select station with left or right button.
- Adjust run time with +/- buttons.
- After a two-second pause, the program begins. Use left/right buttons to navigate stations during manual cycle.
Troubleshooting

Hidden Features

CYCLE AND SOAK | Hold + and turn to RUN TIMES. Enter Cycle, press PRG to set Soak. | Sets max time a station can run at once and minimum time it must wait before another cycle. Divides run time into segments to prevent runoff. |

System Off
Turn dial to system OFF position. No watering will occur.
Programmable Rain Off
- Turn dial to system OFF position and wait for OFF to stop blinking.
- Press +/- to set the number of days to remain off.
- Turn dial back to RUN position. Display shows days off remaining. Watering resumes when Off days reach 0.
- To cancel Rain Off, turn dial to OFF, wait for OFF to stop blinking, then turn dial back to RUN.
Sensor Bypass
Overrides sensor shutdown to allow watering.
- Move sensor BYPASS switch to BYPASS position.
- Return switch to ACTIVE to allow sensor shutdown.
Full Reset
- Press and hold the PRG button.
- Press and release the RESET button on the right side of the controller.
- When DONE appears on the LCD, release the PRG button. The display should show 12:00 AM. Memory is cleared and controller can be reprogrammed.
