Introduction
This document provides a selection of examples illustrating typical hearing aid functionality. For a more comprehensive and precise list of instructions, specific notices, and warnings relating to your hearing aid, please refer to the specific hearing aid User Guide.
All digital hearing aids are different; some have volume controls and buttons, while others do not. Your NHS Provider will inform you about the controls on your specific hearing aid(s).

Changing the battery
- Open the battery compartment.
- Remove the sticker from the new battery. Place the battery in the drawer with the '+' symbol on the battery facing upwards. (Only remove the sticker when you are ready to use the battery).
- Close the battery door.

On and off
To turn the hearing aid on, close the battery compartment.
To turn the hearing aid off, partially open the battery compartment.

Volume control & program change
Manual control can be fitted on some aids.
Volume control
Can I use the manual volume control? Yes ☐ No ☐
To adjust the volume:
- Press up to increase the volume.
- Press down to decrease the volume.

Program change

To change the program using the rocker switch:
- Press up/down to change program.
To change program using the push button:
- Press the push button briefly.

Program Settings
Your NHS Provider will complete the details:
- Everyday listening = You will hear 1 beep: Active ☐ Inactive ☐
- = You will hear 2 beeps: Active ☐ Inactive ☐
- = You will hear 3 beeps: Active ☐ Inactive ☐
- = You will hear 4 beeps: Active ☐ Inactive ☐
- = You will hear 5 beeps: Active ☐ Inactive ☐
- = You will hear 6 beeps: Active ☐ Inactive ☐
Cleaning your hearing aid
Your NHS Provider will give you a full explanation of how to clean your hearing aid. However, you may use a soft dry cloth to wipe over the hearing aid and ear piece.
Please refer to your User Guide for full cleaning instructions.
