Easy Control at Your Fingertips
The CR106 is controlled via the free McIntosh Connect app, available for both Apple and Android devices, through a web interface, or by the intuitive front-panel knobs and buttons. No complicated programming is required, ensuring your system is up and running quickly.
With the Connect app, you can:
- Turn zones on and off.
- Name zones for easy identification.
- Select audio sources for individual zones.
- Adjust volume, bass, and treble for each zone.
- Configure subwoofer settings.
- Group zones together.
- Select from 6 optional EQ Voicings for each zone.
You can also create and customize 'Experiences' using the Connect app or web interface. An Experience captures and saves the current input selection and volume levels for each zone, allowing for quick and seamless audio control activation.
Flexible Connectivity Options
Source components, such as CD players, music streamers, and tuners, can be connected via the 4 unbalanced analog inputs or the 4 digital inputs. For larger systems, up to five CR106 units can be linked together via a Dante® network interface, creating up to 30 distinct two-channel audio zones. Dante replaces traditional audio connections in multi-room systems with a computer network, effortlessly sending audio over your network to multiple locations.
Stream directly to the CR106 via Bluetooth, utilizing Qualcomm® aptX™ HD for hi-res audio playback and Qualcomm aptX™ Adaptive for high-resolution, uninterrupted audio over Bluetooth.
Each zone features 2 sets of unbalanced outputs plus dedicated subwoofer outputs, allowing for advanced configurations such as playing the same audio on 4 speakers and 2 subwoofers in one zone, or distributing the same audio across two zones simultaneously.
Dedicated Power Control triggers allow synchronized power on/off functionality with connected McIntosh components, simplifying system management.
