Suggested Specifications
Aluminum FEMA 361 Louver
Louvers shall be stationary style. Frame shall be 5.5 in. deep with 0.25 in. formed aluminum wall thickness. Blades shall be stationary horizontal inverted V style positioned on approximately 2 in. centers with 0.25 in. extruded aluminum wall thickness. Bird screen shall be internally mounted 0.063 in. thick flattened expanded aluminum.
Louver performance shall be certified in accordance with the AMCA 511 Certified Ratings Program for AMCA 500-L Air Performance and Water Penetration and shall be licensed to bear the AMCA seal. Free area for a size 48 in. x 48 in. louver shall not be less than 7.55 Sq. Ft. (47.2%). Static pressure drop shall not be greater than 0.09 in. wg at 600 fpm free area intake or exhaust velocity. Beginning point of water penetration shall not be less than 634 fpm free area intake velocity.
Louvers shall be UL Classified (Wind-storm Rated) and shall be tested in accordance with the ICC 500 debris impact standard of a 15 lb 2 x 4 traveling at 100 mph as per the requirements indicated within the FEMA 361 construction guidelines for a FEMA 361 or FEMA 320 compliant storm shelter or safe room. Louvers shall be capable of withstanding positive or negative wind pressure loads up to 300 psf when installed in accordance with the manufacturer's published installation instructions.
