This document provides instructions and information for the Xiaomi Redmi 4x Global smartphone.

Device Setup and Operation

SIM Card Installation: Use the provided tool to open the SIM/SD card slot on the left side of the device. Insert the SIM card as shown in the illustration and then reinsert the slot into the phone. To turn on the device, press and hold the Power button until the display lights up. A guide will assist with initial setup.

Unlocking and Locking the Screen: To unlock, briefly press the Power button, place your finger on the arrow at the bottom of the screen, and swipe up. For enhanced security, fingerprint sensor options are available in Settings > Screen Lock. Locking the screen is done by pressing the Power button.

Navigation Buttons:

Apps: Access a list of open applications.
Home: Return to the home screen.
Back: Go to the previous screen.

Accessing the Home Screen: Press the Home button.

Viewing the Home Screen: Swipe your finger across the display.

Desktop Widgets: Widgets provide quick access to apps on your home screen. For example, a weather widget offers immediate weather information. Add widgets by long-pressing the screen.

App Management: Pre-installed apps are located on the home screen. Apps can be organized into folders by dragging one app onto another.

Notifications and Quick Settings: Swipe down from the top notification bar with one finger to view notifications and access quick settings.

Phone Settings: Press the Home button to access the home screen, then press the settings icon to access device settings.

Making Calls: To search for contacts, select the contact icon. For direct dialing, press the dial pad icon.

Ending Calls: Press the Power button to end a call.

Answering Calls: Select the answer icon to accept incoming calls.

Sending SMS Messages: Navigate to the messages app to view all messages. Select the compose icon to create a new message, add contacts, or attach files before sending.

Safety Precautions

Keep the device away from pets and small children. Protect your hearing by avoiding excessively high volumes for extended periods. Switch off the device in airplanes and near electronic medical devices (e.g., pacemakers). Improper handling of the device, battery, or accessories, or unauthorized repairs, may lead to explosion or fire. Do not use the device outside the temperature range of 0°C - 40°C.

Disposal of the Device

This symbol on the product, accessories, or documentation indicates that the product and its electronic accessories (e.g., charger, headphones, USB cable) should not be disposed of with regular household waste.
