General Rules
Intended Use: For high-pressure water jet cleaning applications without detergents or low-pressure cleaning with detergents (e.g., foam injector or washing brush).
Environmental Regulations: Observe environmental, refuse disposal, and water protection regulations.
Inspections: For industrial use, the cleaner must be inspected by an expert every 12 months according to the "Guidelines for Liquid Spray Devices". Inspection results should be recorded.
Accident Prevention: The cleaner is designed to prevent accidents when used correctly. Be aware of the risk of injury from hot machine parts and the high-pressure jet.
Oil Change:
- First oil change: approx. 50 operating hours.
- Subsequent changes: every year or after 250 operating hours.
- Change oil if it turns grey or white.
- Use Kränzle High Performance Gear Oil (Item no.: 400932). Capacity: 0.25 L.
- Dispose of used oil properly in an approved manner.
Oil Leakage: Contact after-sales service immediately if oil leaks. Failure to do so may cause environmental damage or damage to the transmission gearbox.
Condensed Water: In case of increased humidity or temperature fluctuations, condensed water may form. If the oil turns grey or white, change it.
Functional Details
Lack of Water: Insufficient water supply can lead to cavitation inside the high-pressure pump, potentially destroying it. Check water quantity by filling a liter bucket in one minute. Ensure the required minimum quantity of water is met. Lack of water can cause accelerated wear of joints (voids warranty). Never run the pump dry for more than 60 seconds.
Water Supply: Comply with local waterworks regulations. Direct connection to public drinking water lines is prohibited unless a non-return valve with tube ventilator (Kränzle item no.: 410164) is installed. Indirect connection via a reservoir with a float valve is permissible. Direct connection to non-drinking water supply lines is allowed.
Insufficient Quantity of Electricity: Too many connected devices can reduce voltage and current, preventing the motor from starting or causing it to blow. Insufficient power can also result from long or thin power supply cables or extension cables, leading to voltage drops and malfunctions.
Electrical Connection: Use the supplied 5-meter power supply cable. Connect to a standard grounded socket with a 30 mA residual current operated device. Connection must be done by a qualified electrician, complying with IEC60364-1. The socket must be protected by a 16 A fuse. Extension cables must have an earthed lead and a minimum cross-section of 1.5 mm² (2.5 mm² for >10m). Plug connections must be spray-proof and not on wet floors. Always unwind cable drums completely.
Water and Cleaning System: Water is supplied to the pump under pressure or directly sucked from a container. The pump forces water to the lance, where the nozzle forms the high-pressure jet.
Safety Jet Pipe with Safety Trigger Gun: Operation requires the trigger to be actuated. Pulling the trigger opens the gun, increasing spray pressure. Releasing the trigger closes the gun, preventing spray. The pressure gauge should show 0 bar when the trigger is released. The pressure control valve/safety valve manages pressure.
Totalstop-System (TS Models): On TS models, the motor starts when the safety trigger gun is opened and switches off immediately when it is closed.
Motor Protection Switch: Protects the motor against overload and blocking by automatically switching it off. If the motor repeatedly switches off, the cause must be identified and remedied.
Putting into Operation
High-Pressure Hose and Spray Device: Components are made of high-quality material. Use only manufacturer-authorized replacement parts to maintain warranty. Ensure connections are pressure-tight. Do not drive over, pull excessively, twist, or pull the hose over sharp edges. Defective hoses must be replaced, not repaired.
- Carry the high-pressure cleaner to its place of use and ensure it has secure footing. Avoid rough surfaces where vibration might occur.
- Unwind the high-pressure hose straight and without nooses. For extensions, ensure the maximum length of 20 m is not exceeded.
- Screw the high-pressure hose into the pump outlet tightly.
- Mount the grey rotating screw connection of the hose onto the safety trigger gun and screw tightly.
- Attach the lance to the safety trigger gun.
- Screw the lance and safety trigger gun together tightly.
- Check the water inlet filter for cleanliness before operation. Rinse with clear water if dirty. Do not operate with a damaged filter.
- Connect the water hose to the water inlet. Requirements: 5 m hose length, ¼" cross-section, 10 bar. The cleaner can be connected to a water mains (1-10 bar pre-pressure) with cold or hot water (up to 60 °C). The HD 7/122 and HD 7/122 TS can also suck water from a container.
- When using hot water, be careful as metal parts can become hot. Do not touch without safety gloves.
- Check the oil level in the oil sight glass before operation. The oil level should be visible in the middle of the glass.
- Connect to the electrical circuit. Do not touch the plug or live parts with wet hands.
- Switch on the cleaner with the safety trigger gun opened. Bleed the cleaner by pulling and releasing the trigger several times.
- When using the Dirtkiller lance, point it downwards when starting.
- Adjust operating pressure infinitely using the rotary handle. The maximum pressure is factory-set.
Direct Suction
The high-pressure pump can suck water from separate containers or ponds (up to 1 m suction height, max. 3 m hose length).
- Mount the suction hose with suction filter (Item no.: 150383).
- Place the filled suction hose into the water-filled container and start cleaning. Use only clean water, never water containing chlorine, and do not suction air.
Note: Before the first suction, fill the high-pressure pump and suction hose with water. If valves become sticky after prolonged standstill, connect a hose with pressurized water to the pump inlet to open the valves.
Taking Out of Operation
- Switch off the high-pressure cleaner.
- Cut off the water supply.
- Briefly open the safety trigger gun catch to release pressure.
- Apply the safety catch on the trigger gun.
- Remove the high-pressure hose and safety trigger gun.
- Empty the high-pressure pump by holding the hose and switching the motor on until no more water escapes.
- Pull the plug from the socket.
- Clean the high-pressure hose and wind it up without loops.
- Clean and wind up the power supply cable.
- Clean the water inlet sieve.
- Store high-pressure cleaners in frost-free rooms.
Frost Protection: To protect against frost, empty the cleaner completely. Separate from the water supply and switch it on, opening the trigger gun to press water out. Do not operate without water for more than one minute.
Kränzle high-pressure cleaners are compact and mobile, making them easy to store.
Small Repairs - Do It Yourself
