Q1: How to oil the chain?

A1: It is recommended to oil the chain before/after each use. Add a few drops and run the chainsaw at idle to distribute the oil evenly. Any oil works if you run out. Keep the chain lubricated for optimal performance.

Q2: How do you know when charging is complete?

A2: The Red light signals charging status; the Green light signals charging completion.

Q3: How to know battery capacity indicator?

A3: 3 Green LED indicators show the power left as 30%-60%-100%. Only 1 Green LED prompts you to charge.

Q4: Where can I get a charger/battery?

A4: If there are any quality issues during the warranty period, Hardell will provide a full refund or a new replacement. Please contact us via brand email (hardell.service@gmail.com) or Amazon message - click 'seller' - 'ask a question'.

Q5: How long does the battery last and how long does it take to fully charge it?

A5: It depends on the usage scenario and working time. In general, one battery can last about 30 minutes under continuous use. It takes about 1.5 hours to fully charge it when the battery is completely dead.

Q6: How to get a replacement chain?

A6: The chain is usually universal. Check the size of your chainsaw chain and purchase a chain of the appropriate size from a hardware store or online retailer.

Advantages

Parts Identification

Note the Chain Direction

For your safety, make sure the chain is installed in the correct direction before use. The cutting teeth should face forward. An incorrectly installed chain is shown with teeth facing backward [❌].

How to Replace the Chain

1. Step 1: Remove the knob counterclockwise.
2. Step 2: Remove the guide cover, guide plate, and chain.
3. Step 3: Use the provided screwdriver to turn the screw forward so that it aligns with the guide plate hole.
4. Step 4: Align the corresponding hole position of the guide plate with the installed chain to the machine.
5. Step 5: Install the guide cover back, and adjust the knob to tighten the chain with the provided screwdriver. The tightness of the chain should be left at 1-3mm.

How to Start the Mini Chainsaw

1. Step 1: Press the unlock button.
2. Step 2: Press the start button.

How to Install the Battery

Slide the battery pack into the designated slot until it clicks securely into place.

Electrical Safety

Personal Safety

Power Tool Use and Care

• Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

Battery Tool Use and Care

• Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
• Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
• When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

• Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Safety Warnings for All-Purpose Saws

• Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring. Cutting accessory contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool "live" and could give the operator an electric shock.
• Keep hands away from the sawing range. Do not reach under the workpiece. Contact with the saw blade can lead to injuries.
• Apply the machine to the workpiece only when switched on. Otherwise, there is danger of kickback when the cutting tool jams in the workpiece.
• When sawing, the base plate must always face against the workpiece. The saw blade can become wedged and lead to loss of control over the machine.
• When the cut is completed, switch off the machine and then pull the saw blade out of the cut only after it has come to a standstill. In this manner, you can avoid kickback and can place down the machine securely.
• Use only undamaged saw blades that are in perfect condition. Bent or dull saw blades can break, negatively influence the cut, or lead to kickback.
• Use appropriate detectors to determine if utility lines are hidden in the work area or call the local utility company for assistance. Contact with electric lines can lead to fire and electric shock. Damaging a gas line can lead to explosion. Penetrating a water line causes property damage.
• Provide for good footing at all times when operating the power tool, especially when using it on steps or ladders. Slippery or unstable surfaces can cause you to lose your balance or control over the power tool.
• When working with the machine, always hold it firmly with both hands and provide for a secure stance. The power tool is guided more securely with both hands.
• The chain of the saw blade can rip if subjected to excessive strain. In this case, change the tool/saw blade.
• Secure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in a vice is held more securely than by hand.
• Always wait until the machine has come to a complete stop before placing it down. The tool insert can jam and lead to loss of control over the power tool.
• Do not open the battery. Danger of short-circuiting. Protect the battery against heat, e.g., against continuous intense sunlight, fire, water, and moisture. Danger of explosion.
• In case of damage and improper use of the battery, vapors may be emitted. Ventilate the area and seek medical help in case of complaints. The vapors can imitate the respiratory system.
• Use the battery only in conjunction with your Hardell power tool. This measure alone protects the battery against dangerous overload.
• The battery can be damaged by pointed objects such as nails or screwdrivers or by force applied externally. An internal short circuit can occur, and the battery can burn, smoke, explode, or overheat.
