Before Installation
Compatibility and Warnings
- This product is designed to replace single-pole switches only, not 3-way switches.
- Installation requires basic electrical knowledge. It is recommended to consult a qualified electrician for safety.
- For indoor use only. Do not use in humid environments.
- Do not install near heat sources.
- Important: This smart switch is rated for and intended for use with copper wire only.

- Power Off: Turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Test that power is completely off by operating the existing switch multiple times.
- Identify Wires: Remove the existing switch. Identify the wires:
- Ground: Typically green or bare copper.
- Neutral: Typically white.
- Line (Hot)/Load: Required, typically black, and always present.
- Wire Connection: Install the smart wall switch and connect the wires according to the identified labels: Ground, Neutral, and Line/Load.Diagram Description: The diagrams illustrate the standard wire connections for the smart switch: Ground wire connects to the ground terminal, Neutral wire to the neutral terminal, and Line/Load wire to the corresponding terminal.
- Mounting: Tuck wires neatly into the wall box, ensuring there is room for the smart switch. Use the provided screws to mount the switch to the wall box. Be careful not to crush any wires. Avoid overtightening the screws.
- Finalize Installation: Install the wall plate. Turn the main power back ON at the circuit breaker. Test the switch by pressing the button.
- If it does not work, check wiring connections and ensure power is restored.
- If it works, proceed to the Quick Setup section to add the switch to your app.
Quick Setup
- Ensure your Aqara Hub is added to the Aqara app, following its Quick Start Guide.
- Open the Aqara app. Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to enter the "Add Device (Accessory)" page.
- Select either "Smart Wall Switch (With Neutral, Single Rocker)" or "Smart Wall Switch (With Neutral, Double Rocker)" and follow the on-screen instructions to add the device.
Troubleshooting Connection: If the connection fails, move the Aqara Hub closer to the smart switch, ensure the switch is powered on, and try again.
Effective Range Test: Quickly press the button on the smart switch three times. If the Aqara Hub provides a voice prompt, it indicates that the device is communicating effectively with the hub.
