This manual provides instructions for the safe and effective use of the Dr. Brown's Deluxe Bottle Sterilizer.
Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury:
- Read all instructions before use.
- This appliance is not intended for use by children. Close supervision is required when used near children.
- Do not attempt disassembly. Use only recommended accessories.
- Ensure your wall outlet voltage matches the appliance's voltage.
- Do not operate if the appliance malfunctions or is damaged. Return it to an authorized service facility.
- If the power cord or plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or a similarly qualified person.
- Place the appliance on a level, heat-resistant surface.
- Do not place on or near hot gas or electric burners, or in a heated oven.
- Do not let the cord hang over edges or touch hot surfaces.
- DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER.
- For household use only. Do not use outdoors.
- To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or heating chamber in water or other liquid.
- Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before adding water.
- Do not spill liquid on the cord or plug.
- Do not move the appliance while in use or when it contains hot liquids.
- To disconnect, press the power button, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
- DO NOT open the lid or reach over the appliance while in use, as steam can cause burns and serious injuries.
- DO NOT touch hot surfaces, including the top cover, main cover, and trays, during or immediately after use.
- After sterilizing, wait 10 minutes for parts to cool before opening the top cover carefully and being aware of residual steam.
- DO NOT EXCEED the recommended amount of water.
- If draining water from the base, always POUR AWAY FROM YOU.
- Unplug and allow the unit to cool for 60 minutes before cleaning and descaling.
- Be careful to avoid spilling or splashing water on yourself when removing contents.
- The heating element surface may retain residual heat after use.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
- Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.
- Appliances are not intended to be operated by external timers or remote-control systems.
- NOT FOR SPACE HEATING PURPOSES.
- This appliance has a polarized plug. If it does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug.
- Use the shortest power-supply cord possible to reduce entanglement risks. Extension cords may be used with care, ensuring they meet electrical rating requirements and are properly grounded if the appliance is grounded.

Diagrams illustrate optimal placement of narrow and wide-neck bottles, reservoirs, nipples, collars, inserts, and pacifiers/soothers within the sterilizer trays. For specific arrangements, refer to figures showing placement for narrow and wide-neck bottle components.
How to Use
- Ensure all bottles, bottle parts, and accessories are clean, washed, rinsed, and empty before use.
- Position the appliance on a flat surface, out of reach of children, where it cannot be knocked over or moved during operation. Remove the tray.
- Remove the measuring cup and tongs from the unit.
- Fill the measuring cup to the FILL LINE (3 oz/80 mL) with DISTILLED WATER and pour the water onto the HEATING PLATE. Note: For best performance, use recommended water and descale monthly. Mineralized water may shorten the appliance's life.
- CAUTION: DO NOT EXCEED the recommended amount of water. If draining water from the base, always POUR AWAY FROM YOU.
- Place the removable tray (H) in the sterilizer heating chamber. Arrange bottles and other parts in the tray.
- Close the main cover (B) and arrange parts on the upper tray (C) as shown in placement diagrams. This appliance can sterilize items that withstand boiling water, such as pacifiers, teethers, toys, and utensils.
- Close the top cover (A).
- Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet and press the ON/OFF button (E). The cycle indicator lights (G) will illuminate in a RED-BLUE-GREEN sequence, then the green "READY" light will remain on.
- To start sterilization, press the Cycle Start button (F) when the green "READY" light is on.
- Heat Cycle: The RED light indicates heating. This cycle takes approximately 8 minutes, but may vary.
- Cool Down Cycle: The BLUE light indicates cooling. If water was forgotten, the unit must complete this cycle before starting a new heat cycle.
- READY (unload) Cycle: The GREEN light indicates the unit is ready for unloading.
- Open the main cover and carefully remove all bottles and parts. Place them on a flat surface. Reassemble bottles with their components.
- CAUTION: After sterilizing, wait 10 minutes for parts to cool. Open the top cover carefully, being mindful of residual steam. Avoid spilling or splashing water.
- To turn off the unit, press the ON/OFF button (E). You can start another cycle after adding 3 oz/80 mL of water.
Cleaning and Maintenance
CAUTION: Unplug and allow to cool for 60 minutes before cleaning and descaling. DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER.
Appliance Cleaning
The Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Deluxe Bottle Sterilizer should be cleaned at least once a week with regular use.
- The removable tray, tongs, and measuring cup can be washed in hot, soapy water and rinsed thoroughly.
- The exterior base, heating chamber, and two covers can be cleaned with a damp sponge or cloth.
Heating Plate Descaling
Mineral deposits may form on the heating plate. Descale every 4 weeks for proper function.
- Unplug the device and remove the tray.
- Prepare a descaling mixture: Fill the measuring cup to the FILL LINE (3 oz/80 mL) with white vinegar. Add cold water up to the dashed line (0.5 oz/20 mL) for a total of 3.5 oz/100 mL.
- Pour the mixture directly over the heating element.
- Turn the unit on and run a sterilization cycle.
- Empty any remaining solution and rinse with clean water.
NOTE: DO NOT USE BLEACH, HARSH ABRASIVES, OR SOLVENTS on the heating chamber or elements, as this may cause permanent damage and void the warranty.
Warranty
This appliance is warranted against defects in material or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. Any defective part will be repaired or replaced at no charge if it has not been tampered with and the appliance has been used according to these instructions. This warranty provides specific legal rights, which may vary by state.
The warranty does not cover defects caused by negligence, accidents, or improper use. To maintain your appliance and warranty, USE ONLY AS DIRECTED.
