Iconic Design

The Renault 5, known for its stylish grille and distinctive lighting, reinterprets and renews the details of its 1970s predecessor. Two rectangles with rounded corners are a nod to the Renault 5 Turbo's appearance.

The vertically aligned taillights at the rear emphasize the aerodynamic shape of the Renault 5. The "5" signature highlights the boot line, while the shark fin antenna complements the roof, framed by a red stripe (1).

It's worth remembering that the bonnet has gained a new function. The "5" shaped lights, which turn into a charging indicator, light up when the driver approaches or when the battery reaches its maximum level.

#R5CYCLED: Sustainable Materials

The Renault 5 E-Tech electric is made from at least 88.6% recyclable materials (1). The seat fabrics are made from 100% recycled materials. The Renault 5 contains at least 40 kg of recycled plastic (2), representing 19% of the total plastic used. 26.6% of the materials used come from the circular economy (3), of which 19.4% are recycled materials.

Renault 5 is made with 19.4% recycled plastics (2). No leather is used in the cabin. Seat fabric is made from 100% recycled fibers (2).

Automatic Emergency Braking System

The Human First program is a comprehensive safety program developed in collaboration with researchers, experts, and firefighters by Renault. As it concerns all road users, including road safety, pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, the Renault Human First program focuses on the following goals:

1. Preventing accidents: Preventing accidents with safety equipment and advanced driver assistance systems. Over 32 advanced driving assistance systems and over 60 safety features, up to 7 airbags, child seat anchors (Isofix), Renault Fixe4sure solution. Over 2,000 safety patents since 1970.
2. Responding after accidents: Responding after accidents by collaborating with firefighters and developing innovative solutions. QRescue, Fireman Access/10 years trained over 5,000 firefighters in 20 countries / 400 vehicles donated annually for firefighter training.
3. Reducing the number and severity of accidents: Reducing the number and severity of accidents through significant R&D investment. Safety score, safety coach, connected services, big data, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity systems.

E-Tech

Renault's electric, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid technology.

Regenerative Braking

During braking, the system recovers energy to increase the vehicle's driving range. When the driver lifts their foot off the accelerator or lightly presses the brake pedal, the battery is recharged.

Reinforced Home Socket

A more efficient home charging solution than a standard home socket. It offers more power (reinforced socket 3.2 kW - standard socket 2.3 kW) and safer charging (equipped with different circuit breakers).

Home Charging Point

Offers higher power density than a standard home socket for greater efficiency and faster charging. It provides a safer charging experience thanks to systems for charge control and overvoltage protection.

Flexi Charging Cable

A charging cable that can be plugged into a power outlet at home. The flexi charging cable, designed for occasional home charging, can be plugged into an electrical socket connected to a specific earth line.

Mode 3

This cable is required to charge an electric vehicle with a wallbox (wall-mounted charging device) or a public charging infrastructure.

Usable Capacity

The amount of energy contained in the battery and usable by the vehicle. The value is expressed in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

kWh

Abbreviation for kilowatt-hour. The unit of energy corresponding to 1 kW of power consumed in one hour.

kW

Abbreviation for kilowatt. The unit used to measure the power of a vehicle's motor, whether it is an electric motor or an internal combustion engine. Kilowatt measures AC or DC charging power.

AC Charging

AC charging at low to medium power (max. 22 kW). This is the most common charging method found in homes or public charging stations.

DC Charging

Fast direct current charging (min. 50 kW). Requires a specific fast charging station found only on public charging networks.

Mode 2

This cable, designed for home use, is required to charge an electric vehicle from a conventional socket.

Warranty

New vehicle warranty is 2 years for material, assembly, and manufacturing defects, regardless of mileage. The RENAULT R5 comes with a 2-year unlimited mileage warranty plus an additional 3-year / 100,000 km (whichever comes first) new vehicle warranty.

The Renault R5 electric battery (traction battery) is covered by an 8-year / 160,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty. The anti-corrosion warranty is for 12 years without mileage limit, and the paint warranty is for 3 years without mileage limit. Regardless of the vehicle's age, all interventions performed at Renault authorized service centers are covered by a 2-year / 60,000 km spare parts and repair warranty for material, assembly, and manufacturing defects.
