Introduction

This guide provides instructions for the JBL TUNE 230 NC TWS wireless noise-cancelling earbuds. It covers setup, usage, controls, and technical specifications.

Download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

How to Wear

Step 1: Fit

Try different ear tip sizes (S, M, L) for a perfect fit and optimal audio performance.

Step 2: Placement

Insert the earbuds into your ears, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit. The diagram shows the correct placement of the 'R' (Right) earbud in the right ear and 'L' (Left) earbud in the left ear.

First Time Use ?

Place both earbuds into the charging case to begin.

Power On & Connect 

Powering On

Remove earbuds from the charging case to power them on automatically.

Connecting via Bluetooth

For other devices: Navigate to Bluetooth settings on your device, select "JBL TUNE230NC TWS" to connect.

For Android 6.0+ devices: Use Fast Pair. Tap to pair. The device will be tied to your Google Account.

Dual Connect + Sync

Stereo Mode

Both earbuds (L and R) can be used simultaneously for stereo sound.

Mono Mode

Use either the Left (L) or Right (R) earbud individually for mono sound.

Controls

Touch controls are available on both the left (L) and right (R) earbuds.

Common Controls:

• Tap x 1: Play/Pause ▶️, Answer/End Call
• Tap x 2: Next Track ⏭️
• Tap x 3: Previous Track ⏮️
• Hold (2s): Activate ANC, Ambient Aware, Off, or TalkThru modes.

Voice Assistants

Bixby/Siri®/Others: Tap and hold to activate your preferred voice assistant.

*Enable advanced controls and assign voice assistants via the JBL Headphones app.

Power Off ?

Place both earbuds back into the charging case to power them off automatically.

Manual Setup

Connect to a New Bluetooth Device

To connect to a new device manually, ensure the earbuds are in the case. Press and hold the touch area on both earbuds (L/R) for a few seconds until the Bluetooth indicator flashes. Then, select "JBL TUNE230NC TWS" from your device's Bluetooth menu.

Factory Reset

To perform a factory reset, place both earbuds in the charging case. Press and hold the touch area on both earbuds (L/R) for more than 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes.

Do More With The App

The JBL Headphones app allows you to:

• Set up voice assistants (Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa).
• Customize gestures and playback controls (Tap, Double-Tap, Triple-Tap, Tap & Hold).
• Adjust EQ settings for personalized sound profiles (Jazz, Vocal, Bass presets).
• Manage ANC (Noise Cancelling) and Ambient Sound modes.

Charging ⚡

Connect the USB charging cable to the charging case.

A 10-minute charge provides up to 2 hours of playtime. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.

LED Behaviors

Earbud Status:

• Blue flashing lights: Bluetooth Connecting 
• Solid blue light: Bluetooth Connected 
• Red flashing lights: Bluetooth Not Connected 
• Pulsing blue light: Factory Reset in progress

Charging Case Status:

• Pulsing light: Charging ?⚡
• Solid light: Fully Charged ?✔️
• Flashing red light: Low Battery ⚠️

RF Exposure Information (Canada)

The SAR limit for Canada is 1.6 W/kg averaged over one gram of tissue. The device (IC:6132A-JBLT230NT) has been tested against this limit, with the highest reported SAR value for head use being 0.4278 W/kg. For compliance, maintain a 0 mm separation distance between the user's head and the headset. Use only supplied or approved accessories.

French Regulatory Information
