YOUR MOBILE DEVICE MEETS INTERNATIONAL GUIDELINES FOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVES.

Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves (radio frequency electromagnetic fields) recommended by international guidelines. The guidelines were developed by an independent scientific organization (ICNIRP) and include a substantial safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.

The radio wave exposure guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. The highest SAR values under the ICNIRP guidelines for your device model are listed below:

Maximum SAR for this model and conditions under which it was recorded (ICNIRP Guidelines)

Region/ConditionBody PartTechnologySAR Value
Europe/UK 10g SARHeadGSM, WCDMA, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth1.077W/kg
Europe/UK 10g SARBody-worn (0mm)GSM, WCDMA, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth1.437W/kg
Europe/UK 10g SARLimb (0mm)GSM, WCDMA, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth1.437W/kg

During use, the actual SAR values for your device are usually well below the values stated. This is because, for purposes of system efficiency and to minimize interference on the network, the operating power of your mobile device is automatically decreased when full power is not needed for the call. The lower the power output of the device, the lower its SAR value. If you are interested in further reducing your RF exposure then you can easily do so by limiting your usage or simply using a hands-free kit to keep the device away from the head and body.

YOUR MOBILE DEVICE MEETS FCC AND IC LIMITS FOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVES.

Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves (radio frequency electromagnetic fields) adopted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). These limits include a substantial safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.

The radio wave exposure guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit for mobile devices is 1.6W/kg. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. The highest SAR values under the FCC guidelines for your device model are listed below:

Maximum SAR for this model and conditions under which it was recorded (FCC Guidelines)

Region/ConditionBody PartTechnologySAR Value
FCC 1g SARHeadGSM, WCDMA, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth1.19W/kg

Chile 1g SARHeadGSM, WCDMA, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth1.19W/kg
Limit(1.6W/kg)Body-wornGSM, WCDMA, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth1.17W/kg

During use, the actual SAR values for your device are usually well below the values stated. This is because, for purposes of system efficiency and to minimize interference on the network, the operating power of your mobile device is automatically decreased when full power is not needed for the call. The lower the power output of the device, the lower its SAR value. If you are interested in further reducing your RF exposure then you can easily do so by limiting your usage or simply using a hands-free kit to keep the device away from the head and body.

The Bluetooth adapter is a frequency hopping (FH) type wireless device that uses the 2.4 GHz frequency band (2400 to 2483.5 MHz), with an interference distance of approximately 80m.

Security Precautions for Wireless LAN Products

Wireless LAN allows information exchange between PCs and wireless access points using radio waves instead of LAN cables, offering the advantage of free LAN connection within radio range. However, radio waves can reach beyond obstacles (walls, etc.) to all locations within a certain range. If security settings are not configured, the following problems may occur:

  • Malicious third parties may eavesdrop on communication content, stealing personal information such as IDs, passwords, or credit card numbers, or email content.
  • Malicious third parties may gain unauthorized access to personal or company networks and extract personal information (information leakage), impersonate individuals to spread false information (impersonation), rewrite and transmit intercepted communication content (tampering), or distribute computer viruses to destroy data or systems (destruction).

Wireless LAN cards and access points are equipped with security mechanisms to address these issues. By configuring the security settings of your wireless LAN product, the likelihood of such problems occurring is reduced.

It is recommended that you fully understand the potential problems of using the device without security settings and configure the security settings at your own discretion and responsibility.

Usage Environment and Comfortable Use

Wireless LAN/Bluetooth adapters emit radio frequency electromagnetic waves, similar to other wireless devices. However, the impact of these electromagnetic waves on the human body is very weak, unlike mobile phones which are used in direct contact with the head.

Wireless LAN/Bluetooth adapters operate in accordance with radio frequency safety standards and recommendations. Lenovo believes that consumers can use the built-in wireless card safely. These standards and recommendations reflect the consensus of scientists and the results of extensive research and deliberation by scientific panels.

Depending on the environment or situation, building owners or organizational representatives may restrict the use of Wireless LAN/Bluetooth adapters. Examples include:

  • Using the built-in wireless card during airplane travel, in hospitals, at gas stations, in potentially explosive environments (with electrical ignition devices), near medical implants, or near medical electronic devices like pacemakers.
  • Using the device in locations where it is recognized or confirmed to cause harmful interference to other devices or functions.

If you are unsure whether the use of wireless devices is permitted in specific locations (e.g., airports or hospitals), please inquire before using the Wireless LAN/Bluetooth adapter after powering on the Tablet.
