This document provides essential installer instructions for Ei Electronics 230V~ Smoke & Heat Alarms. It details installation procedures, optimal positioning, and guidance on selecting the appropriate alarm type based on British Standards (BS 5839-6:2004) for fire safety in dwellings.

Key Installation Steps

  • Quick Guide: Follow the quick guide for initial installation, including ideal placement in the center of ceilings, away from kitchens for ionization alarms, and ensuring all alarms are interconnected.
  • Siting: Alarms should be ceiling-mounted at least 300mm from walls and obstructions.
  • Wiring: Connect to the mains supply via the terminal block on the baseplate. Ensure correct Live and Neutral connections.
  • Testing: After installation, test the alarm and any interconnected units by pressing and holding the test button.
