Material Information and Care
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel lamps are made from an alloy of iron, chrome, and nickel. A protective oxide layer forms on the surface, but it is susceptible to environmental factors and requires regular maintenance to remain shiny and rust-free.
Care: Treat with acid-free oil before mounting and wipe with a soft cloth. Repeat this treatment 3-4 times annually. Not recommended for coastal, agricultural, or industrial environments.
Copper, Brass, and Tombac
These lamps are made from solid copper, brass, or tombac. Machining may leave minor scratches. Over time, exposure to air and moisture will cause the material to darken and develop a patina. Copper will develop a green patina, while brass and tombac will darken uniformly. The rate of this process depends on the environment.
Care: Natural aging process is expected.
Hot-Galvanized Lamps
The zinc treatment is applied manually. The surface may have variations or minor drop formations. Thin "zinc curtains" may appear and can be removed with a soft brush.
Care: The initially shiny surface will become more matte and rustic over time.
Aluminum Lamps
Made from die-cast and/or extruded aluminum. Raw aluminum is treated with a special clear coat for corrosion protection. Painted lamps have a powder-coated finish.
Care: Clean and wipe 3-4 times a year with a regular cleaner. Black lamps exposed to strong sunlight may benefit from silicone spray to maintain color. Not recommended for coastal, agricultural, or industrial areas due to potential corrosion.
Condensation
Condensation is a natural phenomenon caused by temperature and humidity differences, which can affect electrical components. It is not covered by warranty unless a manufacturing defect causes water ingress.
Troubleshooting: Check lamp mounting, seals, screws, and glass. For garden lamps, rising ground moisture in the post may cause condensation; fill the post with sealant if necessary.
Important: Keep drainage holes clear of debris.
IP Rating
IP4X: Protected against solid objects with a diameter of 1.0 mm or more. Protected against contact with hazardous parts by wires, etc.
IPX4: Protected against splashing water from any angle (360°). Raindrops falling from any angle will not affect the function or safety of the lamp.
Warranty
Nordlux offers a 15-year warranty on outdoor lamps made of copper, brass, tombac, and galvanized finishes. This warranty covers extensive corrosion (holes in the metal caused by rust) and is valid upon presentation of the purchase receipt.
The warranty does not cover components damaged by wear and tear or improper handling of the lamps.
Product Disposal
The symbol of a crossed-out bin indicates that this product, including batteries, must not be disposed of with household waste. It should be handed over to a designated collection point for recycling to protect human health and the environment.
