Generic Gateway/Console/Hub Configuration
Using the Ecowitt Mobile App
This section guides you through configuring your Ecowitt device using the mobile application.
App Interface Overview:
- The app displays a menu on the left with options: "My Devices" (indicated by '1'), "Message", "Weather Map", "Settings", "Help", "About", and "Log out".
- A screen labeled "Weather Station List" shows available stations and a button to "+ Add New Devices" (indicated by '2').
- The "Gateway Provisioning" screen provides essential setup information: "Prior to go any further, please make sure the current APP(ecowitt) has WiFi and (precise) location permission enabled. Turn off your mobile network data service. Make sure your WiFi works on 2.4G band." This screen also shows sections for "Weather Station" (indicated by '4') and the "ecowitt" logo (indicated by '5').
Setup Steps:
- Install the "ecowitt" APP. Ensure location and Wi-Fi services are enabled.
- During setup, disable the cellular network data service on your mobile phone.
- Tap the "menu" icon in the top left corner. Navigate to "My Devices", select "Camera", and then tap "+ Add New Devices" to begin the Wi-Fi provisioning process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the app. For any issues encountered, please contact Ecowitt customer service.
If you encounter difficulties configuring the device network settings via the mobile app, it is recommended to use the Embedded Web page setup method described on the next page.
Using the Embedded Web Page
This section details the alternative setup method using the device's embedded web page.
Setup Steps:
- Activate the configuration mode on your Camera. (Refer to the APP page Wi-Fi provisioning section if you are unsure how to activate.)
- Connect your mobile phone to the Camera's Wi-Fi hotspot.
- Open your mobile phone's web browser and enter the IP address
192.168.4.1
to access the embedded web page. The default password is empty; simply tap Login to proceed. - Navigate through the web interface: Local Network -> Router SSID -> WIFI password -> Apply.
- Navigate to Weather services and copy the "MAC" address.
Web Interface Overview:
- The login screen includes fields for "Login", "Local Network" (with "Router SSID", "WIFI Password" - indicated by '3', and a "show password" option), and "Weather Services". The "Local Network" section also displays "MAC" (indicated by '5') and "WIFI Network" details.
- The "Gateway Provisioning" screen allows configuration of "Device Name", "Device Type" (e.g., "Weather Station"), "MAC/IMEI" (indicated by '3'), "Timezone" (options like "Asia", "Shanghai"), and "Is Public" settings. A "Save" button is present (indicated by '4').
- A screen offers two connection options: "WiFi Provisioning" (for devices connecting via WiFi provisioning) and "Manually Adding" (for devices already on the local network with internet access, requiring the device's MAC/IMEI) (indicated by '1').
After copying the MAC address, return to the "Gateway provisioning" section in the mobile app. Select "Manually adding", enter the "Device Name", and paste the copied "MAC" address to complete the setup.
