Auto Changeover Operation
Auto changeover is available if the thermostat is configured for at least 1 heat stage and 1 cool stage, and the installer enabled it. When enabled, 'Auto' can be selected under 'System mode'. In auto mode, the customer can set heat and cool setpoints to the same temperature, though a cool setpoint at least 3 degrees above the heat setpoint is preferred. A 1.5°F differential is enforced to prevent rapid cycling between heat and cool. The differential is the minimum temperature change required before switching modes. For example, with a 3-degree differential, if heat and cool were both set to 70°F, cooling would only engage if the temperature rose 3°F above the heat setpoint. Similarly, heating would only engage if the temperature dropped 3°F below the cool setpoint. If AC is used for dehumidification, an additional temperature drop is enforced before switching back to heat.
Em Heat Mode
Emergency heat runs when manually switched to em heat mode. The heat pump is locked out, and backup heat is used to maintain the setpoint. This mode is only available for heat pump systems configured with backup heat by the installer. Access it via the menu icon and 'System Mode'.

Control Humidification Level: Navigate via MENU > Humidification. Use ^ or v to select level, then 'Done'.
Window Protection: If frost/condensation appears, access via MENU > Options > Window Protection Level. This feature limits humidity to prevent frost/condensation on windows. It uses a scale of 1-10 (1=poorly insulated windows, 10=well insulated). A lower number reduces humidity. If indoor air is too dry, use a higher number. Window Protection requires an outdoor sensor or internet connection.
Dehumidification
The thermostat controls indoor humidity using the cooling system or a whole house dehumidifier.
Control Dehumidification Level: Navigate via MENU > Dehumidification. Use ^ or v to select level, then 'Done'. 'Options' allows enabling/disabling the dehumidifier.
NOTE: If the AC is used for humidity control, the temperature may drop up to 3°F below the setting. If humidification and dehumidification are active in the same system mode, a 15% deadband is enforced. Dehumidification overcooling limit (cooling droop) allows the cooling system to lower temperature up to 5°F below the setpoint.
Ventilation
Control ventilation levels and modes.
Control Ventilation Level: Navigate via MENU > Ventilation. Select mode: Auto (installer programmed), On (always on), or Off (unless timed). The status will show if the ventilator is running.
Timed Ventilation: Temporarily turn the ventilator on using the up arrow (0-180 minutes). 'Cancel Timed Ventilation' to stop. This is not available when the ventilator is set to 'On'.
Lockout During Sleep: In the ventilation menu, select 'options' to disable ventilation during 'Sleep' periods.
Lockouts and run ventilation: It's recommended to increase ventilation rate (CFM) to meet ASHRAE 62.2 standards for shorter run times.
Advanced Features
Adaptive Intelligent Recovery
The thermostat learns how long your system takes to reach a programmed temperature setting. It turns on the heating/cooling system early to ensure the desired temperature is met at the programmed time. The display shows 'In Recovery' when this occurs. The system calculates a recovery ramp based on room temperature, equipment performance, and weather history.
Compressor Protection
The thermostat keeps the compressor off for a few minutes before restarting to prevent equipment damage. 'Waiting for Equipment' is displayed during this time.
P + I Control
This thermostat uses a proportional plus integral (P + I) control algorithm for precise temperature management, eliminating the offset (droop) found in conventional thermostats. It compares sensed temperature to setpoint and considers the duration of any deviation to accurately control the cycle rate.
*Droop is used for aux heat control on heat pump systems with electric heat strips or gas/oil furnaces as backup heat.
