Charging Settings
1. Battery Type
In the main interface, select and short press the Scroll Wheel to enter the charging function. If 'Battery selection' is enabled in the main settings, you can save up to 10 battery records. The interface will display saved battery records. If not enabled, it defaults to the first battery record.
To set up a new battery or modify an existing one, select the desired battery record or press [New Battery]. This opens the battery setting interface.
The charger supports 7 types of batteries: LiPo, LiHV, LiFe, Lion, LTO, NiMH, and PB. Select the battery type that matches your actual battery and press [Confirm] to save and return to the previous page.
❗ Important:
- Choosing the wrong battery type for charging may damage the battery, charger, or cause burns. Ensure you select the correct type carefully.
- Do not charge batteries that are not labeled with a battery type.
Nomenclature:
- LiPo: Lithium Polymer battery, nominal voltage 3.70V, fully charged 4.20V.
- LiHV: High-voltage Lithium battery, nominal voltage 3.85V, fully charged 4.35V.
- LiFe: Lithium Iron battery, nominal voltage 3.30V, fully charged 3.60V.
- Lion: Lithium-ion battery, nominal voltage 3.60V, fully charged 4.10V.
- LTO: Lithium-ion battery, nominal voltage 2.40V, fully charged 2.70V.
- NiMH: Nickel-Metal Hydride battery, nominal voltage 1.20V.
- PB: Lead-acid battery, nominal voltage 2.00V.
2. Number of Cells
Move the cursor to 'Battery Cells', short press the Scroll Wheel to modify the number of battery cells. The display shows options like Auto, 1S, 2S, 3S, etc.
When set to [Auto], the charger automatically identifies the number of cell strings based on the connected battery's voltage. Press [Confirm] to save and return to the previous page.
? Tips:
- Accessing battery over-discharge or overcharge may lead to incorrect cell string identification. Manually set the correct number of strings if this occurs.
- Incorrectly setting the number of strings may prevent charging or cause overcharging damage. Be careful with these settings.
- Lixx batteries can be identified more accurately when connected to the balance port.
3. Mode
Modify the working mode (e.g., Charge, Discharge, Cycle, Destroy). LiPo, LiHV, LiFe, and Lion batteries can be selected for charging and storage. NiMH and PB batteries can be selected for charging. Press [Confirm] to save and return to the previous screen.
4. End Voltage Setting (TVC)
Move the cursor to [End Voltage] to modify the end voltage of the battery. For charging mode, this is the cut-off voltage (range ±50mV of full voltage). For discharging mode, it's the discharge cut-off voltage. The adjustment value increments by 0.01V.
❗ Important:
- Only LiPo, LiHV, and LiFe batteries can have their cut-off voltage set.
- Do not modify the cut-off voltage if you are unfamiliar with the battery characteristics.
- The charging cut-off voltage can be set within a range of ±50mV of the full voltage.
- TVC is an abbreviation for Terminal Voltage Control.
5. Charging Current
Move the cursor to [Charging Current] and use the slider or Scroll Wheel to adjust the current in 0.1A steps. Scrolling quickly increases/decreases the value faster. The charger supports up to 30A.
? Tips:
- Please set the charging rate of 1-2C according to the battery capacity. For example, for a 2000mAh battery, set the charging current to 2.0-4.0A. Consult your battery manufacturer's guidelines for correct charging instructions.
6. NiMh Setting (PeakV)
When the battery type is NiMH, the PeakV value can be set. The setting range is 3mV-15mV.
? Tips:
- Only NiMH batteries can have the battery negative pressure value set.
- Vocabulary Explanation: PeakV: When the NiMH battery is fully charged, this is the voltage drop peak value of each cell.
Charging
When charging starts, the charger enters the working interface. You can view voltage and internal resistance information by selecting the [Info] button. The [Status Bar] allows dynamic adjustment of working current or stopping the operation.
To end charging or discharging, select [Channel 1 - Stop] to return to the main interface. A prompt sound and box will appear upon completion or error.

- Automatically Continue Charging: When a battery is fully charged, unplug it and connect the next battery; the device will automatically continue charging. This function can be started or stopped in the settings menu.
- Fan Stepless Speed Regulation: When the internal temperature exceeds 43°C, the fan speed increases linearly with temperature or power, reducing noise at lower temperatures or power levels.
- USB Fast Charging: The M8D supports USB fast charging protocols up to 65W via the C port, including PD, QC, AFC, FCP, SCP, PE, SFCP, VOC.
- Manually Calibrate Voltage: In system settings, access manual voltage calibration. Use a voltmeter to measure the actual battery voltage, move the cursor to the corresponding value, and adjust it to match the voltmeter reading. Save the calibration.
- Fully Charged Replenishment: After 'Fast charging has ended' for a lithium battery, if it remains connected, it will automatically trickle charge at a constant voltage to reach a fuller state.
- Battery Destruction: For disposing of lithium batteries, this function completely drains the battery's voltage to prevent combustion risk from residual voltage.
❗ Warning:
- The battery destruction function should not be used during normal battery operation, as it can empty the battery and cause irreversible damage.
