Quick Setup
1. Download the app
Search for "Aqara Home" on your app store (e.g., Apple Store, Google Play, Huawei App Gallery) and download/install the Aqara Home app.
2. Set up the hub
- Choose the installation location: Position the hub 2-6 meters away from your Wi-Fi router, ensuring no metal obstacles are between the hub and the router or around the hub.
- Power the hub on: Use a 5V-1A or 5V-2A adapter (sold separately) and the provided USB power cable.
- Wired Network Connection (Optional): If you prefer a wired connection, use a network cable with an RJ45 port to connect the hub's LAN port to your router. Wait for the orange and green lights on the network port to illuminate.
- Wait for indicator light: Allow the yellow/red hub indicator light to change from steady on to flashing.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. If using a dual-band router, connect to the 2.4GHz band or temporarily disable the 5GHz band. Keep your phone close to the hub and ensure both are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Add the hub in the app: Open the Aqara Home app, tap "+" in the upper right corner, select "Hub M2", and follow the on-screen instructions to complete adding the hub.
- iOS/HomeKit Users: For Apple HomeKit control, scan or manually enter the HomeKit Setup Code (found on the bottom of the hub or in the manual) during the app setup process. Bind the hub to HomeKit to view it in the Apple Home app.
- Troubleshooting Failed Setup: If you fail to add the hub, press and hold the button on the hub for over 10 seconds until the yellow/red light flashes quickly, then try adding it again. For further assistance, visit www.aqara.com/en/support.html.
If the device could not be added, follow these steps:
- Ensure the device is connected to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Check if the Wi-Fi name or password contains special characters; try using ordinary characters.
- The device does not support WAP/WAP2 Wi-Fi networks.
- Verify that your router's Wi-Fi connection watcher function is not causing connection failures.
- Check if your router's AP isolation function is preventing the phone from searching for the hub within the LAN.
- It is recommended not to connect the hub to a bridge network.
Trouble adding to HomeKit
- "Failed to add accessory": If multiple adding failures occur, the iOS cache error may persist. Restart your iOS device and reset the hub.
- "Accessory already added": After restarting your iOS device and resetting the hub, you can manually enter the HomeKit setup code to add it again.
- "Accessory not found": Wait for 3 minutes after resetting the hub, then manually enter the HomeKit setup code to add it again.
Device Operations
- Add an accessory: After the hub is successfully added, refer to the accessory's installation guide to add it.
- Control IR home appliances: Configure the brands and models of IR home appliances you wish to control within the Aqara Home app, following the app's guidelines. Then, perform app control and automation setup.
