Instruction
Quick Setup
Download the app
Search "Aqara Home" in the app store or download the "Aqara Home" app.
Set up the Hub
- Choose the installation location: The hub should be 2-6 meters away from the router and avoid metal obstacles between the hub and the router or around the hub.
- Power the hub on: Use a 5V-1A or 5V-2A adapter (purchase separately) and the USB power cable.
- For wired network communication, use an RJ45 network cable to connect the LAN ports of the hub and your router, and wait for the orange and green lights on the network port to light up.
- Wait for the yellow/red hub indicator light to change from steady on to flashing.
- Ensure your mobile phone is connected with the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. If using a dual-band router, connect to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi or disable 5GHz Wi-Fi. Keep your phone close to the hub and ensure both are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the Aqara Home app, tap "+" in the upper right corner, select "Hub M2", and follow the instructions to complete adding the hub.
- For iOS users wanting Apple HomeKit control, scan or manually enter the HomeKit Setup Code (found on the hub's bottom or in the manual) during the hub adding process. After successful binding, the hub will appear in the Apple Home app.
- If adding fails, press the button on the hub for more than 10 seconds until the yellow/red light flashes quickly, then add it again. For assistance, visit www.aqara.com/en/support.html.
Troubleshooting: Device Not Added
If the device could not be added, please follow these steps:
- Ensure the device is connected with the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Wi-Fi name or password may contain special characters. Replace them with ordinary characters and try again.
- The device does not support WPA/WPA2 enterprise Wi-Fi networks.
- Check if the router's Wi-Fi connection watcher function is enabled, which may cause connection failures.
- Check if the router's AP isolation function is enabled, which may prevent the mobile phone from finding the device within the LAN.
- Do not connect it to a bridge network.
Troubleshooting: HomeKit Binding Fails
If HomeKit binding fails, please confirm the following:
- "Cannot add accessories": Due to multiple adding failures, iOS system cache might not be cleared. Restart the iOS device and reset the Hub. If issues persist, check router compatibility or try a different router.
- "The accessory has been added": After restarting the iOS device and resetting the Hub, manually enter the HomeKit setup code and add it again.
- "Can not find the accessory": Wait for 3 minutes after resetting the Hub. You can manually enter the HomeKit setup code and add it again.
Adding an Accessory
After the hub is successfully added, please refer to the accessory installation guide to add an accessory.
Restore to Factory Settings
Quickly press the button on the Hub ten times.
