Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Edifier R980T powered 2.0 speaker system. This manual provides detailed instructions for setup and operation. Please read it carefully before use.

Upon opening the package, you should find the following items:

Connection and Setup

Initial Setup:

1. Connect the left and right sides of the speaker connection cable to the terminals on the back of the master and slave speakers respectively. Ensure correct polarity (red wire to red terminal, yellow wire to black terminal) and avoid short circuits or loose connections.
2. Connect the double-headed end of the audio connection cable to the master speaker, following the wire guides on the back panel. Ensure color correspondence if there are no tubes. Connect the other end to your audio source.
3. Plug the power cord into a power outlet and turn on the power switch. The system will boot up.
4. Adjust the volume to a suitable level.

Troubleshooting

Only one speaker has sound:

1. Check if the speaker connection cable is properly connected between the master and slave speakers.
2. Try connecting to a different audio source. If the speakers work correctly with another source, the issue might be with the original audio source's sound settings.
3. If the problem persists, please contact customer support.

No sound from either speaker:

1. Ensure the power plug is securely connected and the power switch is turned on.
2. Check that the audio source and connection cables are functioning correctly.
3. Verify that the volume on the audio source is not set to minimum.
4. Try unplugging the power and restarting the system.

Speaker Noise Issues:

Edifier speakers are designed for low noise. If you experience noise, check cable connections. At normal listening volumes and from a distance of about 1 meter, the speaker's own operational noise should be inaudible.
