Dave DeWitt is an exterior design manager, a position he has held since 2009. DeWitt possesses extensive experience in the design of the Ford Ranger, having served as the lead exterior designer for the 2011 model year Ranger starting in 2006. Between 2009 and 2018, he managed the exterior design for the 2015 model year Ranger, the 2018 model year Ranger, the Ranger Raptor, and the 2019 model year North American Ranger. From 2018 to 2022, he led Ford Performance and vehicle personalization design, overseeing the development of the next-generation Ranger Raptor and various other global and regional design projects for Ford.
DeWitt joined Ford in 2005, coming from Caran Consulting in Gothenburg, Sweden, where he contributed to design programs for a local automaker. Prior to that, he held multiple design roles across various companies in the automotive industry.
Beyond his professional work, DeWitt is passionate about the ocean and surfing. His interests also extend to designing surfboards, watches, and occasionally building Lego cars.
With nearly 30 years of international automotive design experience, DeWitt has lived and worked in Germany, Japan, Sweden, and currently resides in Australia. He earned his transportation design diploma from Coventry University in England, having been born in London.
