Starlink Performance Kit Installation Guide
This guide provides instructions for setting up your Starlink Performance Kit.
What's in the Box
The Starlink Performance Kit includes the following components:
- Starlink Performance Dish
- Smart Power Switch
- Starlink Performance Cable (25m / 82ft)
- Starlink Ethernet Cable (5m / 16.4ft)
- Starlink AC Power Cable (1.5m / 4.9ft)
- Starlink DC Power Cable (1.5m / 4.9ft)
Step 1: Download the Starlink App
Download the Starlink App and scan the QR code to begin the setup process. The app will guide you through the installation.
Visit setup.starlink.com for more information.
Step 2: Connect the Cable and Power
Attach the Starlink cable's Performance connector to your Starlink dish by aligning the red mark and inserting the plug firmly into the dish.
Connect the other end of the Starlink cable to the power switch. Plug either the AC power cable (2A) or the DC power cable (2B) into the power switch, depending on your power source, and then plug it into a power outlet. Ensure all cables are fully plugged in so the face of the plug is flush with the top of the port.
To remove the Starlink cable, twist the collar counter-clockwise and pull to disconnect.
Step 3: Find a Mounting Location and Mount the Starlink
Your Starlink requires a clear view of the sky to connect to moving satellites. Obstructions like trees, poles, or roofs can interrupt service. Use the obstruction tool in the Starlink App to ensure you select a suitable mounting location.
The app will notify you if you need to rotate the Starlink to achieve a better connection. Use the alignment tool in the app to assist with this. Ensure you check for obstructions and that your Starlink is properly aligned before permanently mounting it.
Step 4: Connect the Starlink
If using a Starlink Router, connect the Router to the Smart Power Switch using the provided cable.
If using a third-party router, use the Ethernet cable provided in the Performance Kit. After setting up your third-party router and connecting it to the Starlink via the WAN port, open the Starlink app. If the app indicates "Starlink unavailable," create a static route in your router's settings.
Refer to your router's documentation for instructions on setting up a static route.

Note: These options may vary depending on your specific tools, equipment, and network configuration.
Smart Power Switch Installation
1. Remove the Unit
Remove the power switch from its housing by pulling and twisting the quick-release pins in any direction. The pins will lock in place to allow for easy removal of the power switch.
2. Mark Mounting Holes
Choose a mounting location no more than 1.5 meters (5 feet) from your power source. Mark the four mounting holes on the power switch housing using a pen or pencil.
3. Drill Mounting Holes
Drill holes using an 8mm (5/16 inch) drill bit.
4. Secure Anchors and Unit
Push the anchors into the holes until they are flush with the wall. Place the wall mount unit over the anchors and secure the unit with screws until it is firmly attached.
5. Connect Cables and Mount the Power Switch
Connect the Starlink, Ethernet, and AC or DC power cables to the power switch by removing the waterproof plugs and ensuring the cables are fully seated. Push the power switch into the housing, ensuring all locking pins engage properly.
Complete the installation by routing the Ethernet cable to your router location, connecting it to the router, and then plugging the router and power switch into your power source.
