Eaton is introducing advanced tooling sets engineered to cover over 80% of core product crimping needs, addressing common issues like nesting diameters, sticking collets, and interface problems.
The process is straightforward, as easy as 1-2-3:
- Select your core hose and fitting product combination, ensuring it meets application and regulatory requirements.
- Based on the hose size and selected fitting, choose the correct color-coded collet using the provided chart.
- Consult the core product tooling reference for your specific crimp machine to determine if any spacer rings are needed for your assembly.

Crimp Example: T-400 Machine
The T-400 Crimp Example illustrates the selection process. For a H28006 hose with a Z-Series fitting, a Black Die Collet and a Yellow Die Collet Cage are used. The process involves matching the rings on the Z-Series fitting to the hose identifier, and using the table above to select the correct colored collet for a perfect crimp. ? Note: T-400 machines manufactured before 1980 may have limited stroke and cannot crimp -12 and -16 sizes.
Optimized Tooling Conversion Packages
These tooling packages are designed for converting existing crimpers. New crimper placement will require a different tooling package.
