Installation Instructions
For Your Safety: Read and understand the entire manual before installing.
Step 1: Prepare Worksurface
Remove all components from the crate. Place the worksurface on a sturdy working area with the screw holes facing up. Locate two cross bars and the ¼-20 screws. Install the screws as shown.
Step 2: Attach Legs
Locate the left leg, right leg, and the 1 ½" bolts. Install the bolts through the legs into the cross bars. Rotate the table onto its back surface.
Step 3: Attach Lower Shelf Cross Bars
Locate two cross bars and the lower shelf. Attach the cross bars to the lower shelf with the ¼-20 screws. Note: The 100 Series has one lower shelf surface, while the 200 Series has two.
Step 4: Attach Lower Shelf Assembly
Attach the lower shelf assembly to the bottom of the workbench using the 1 ½" bolts.
Step 5: Install Levelers or Casters
Install the four leg levelers to the bottom of the workbench. If optional casters were purchased, install them instead of the levelers. Rotate the workbench onto the levelers/casters.
Step 6: Attach Back Panel
Locate the back panel, four 2 ½" bolts, and four channel nuts. Align the back panel with the pre-drilled mounting holes on the rear LAN station legs. Loosely install the 2 ½” bolts through the back panel. IMPORTANT: Ensure the grooves in the channel nuts face towards the bolt head.
Step 7: Install Upper Shelf Channels
Locate the upper shelf channels and slide them over the channel nuts. Adjust the height and fully tighten the bolts.
Step 8: Attach Upper Shelf Supports
Locate the four upper shelf supports, four 1 ½" bolts, and four channel nuts. Install the 1 ½" bolts through the top mounting holes of the upper shelf supports, loosely installing the channel nuts. Note that the larger holes on the shelf supports should face outward. Slide the shelf supports into the upper shelf channels.
Step 9: Install Upper Shelves
Locate the upper shelves, cross bars, and ¼-20 screws. Install the ¼-20 screws into the shelves. Locate four 1 ½" bolts and install through the upper shelf mounts and into the cross bar. Adjust the shelf assembly to the desired height.
Step 10: Install Round End Caps
Locate the ¾" round end caps. Install them in the indicated locations on the frame and supports.
Step 11: Install Square and Rectangle End Caps
Locate the 1 ½" x 1 ½" square and 1 ½" x 2" rectangle end caps. Install them in the indicated locations on the frame.
Maintaining Your New Workbench
Your Kendall Howard Performance Workbench is built with high-quality materials. To maintain its appearance:
- Clean regularly with a damp cloth and mild soap and water solution.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Keep the work surface away from petroleum products.
- Keep away from open flames; shelving is wood-based and not fireproof.
- If using casters, periodic checks of bolts and screws are recommended as movement may loosen hardware over time.
- Do not exceed weight thresholds to prevent injury or damage.
