Charging

Battery packs are shipped in a low charge condition and should be charged before first use.

  1. Turn the battery pack upside down so the latch faces up.
  2. Align the raised ribs on the battery pack with the grooves in the charger and slide the charger onto the battery pack. The connection may feel slightly loose, which is normal.
  3. Press down on the charger to ensure proper contact engagement. The latch should snap into place.
  4. Ensure the power supply is 120 Volts, AC only, 60 Hz.
  5. Do not place the charger in extreme heat or cold; it operates best at normal room temperature.
  6. The battery pack may become slightly warm during charging; this is normal.
  7. The LED will slowly flash green while charging.
  8. If the LED flashes green and red, a fault is detected. Refer to LED Functions for details.
  9. When charging is complete, the charger LED will stop flashing and remain green for approximately 5 minutes. All battery pack LEDs will turn off.
  10. To remove the battery pack, depress the latch and slide the charger off.
  11. Remove the power adapter from the power source and store the charger in a dry location.

Charging a Hot Battery Pack

If the battery pack becomes hot from continuous use, charging will not begin until the temperature cools to an acceptable range. The charger LED will turn orange and remain on. Charging will automatically begin once the battery cools.

Charging a Cold Battery Pack

If the battery pack is cold, charging will not begin until the temperature warms to an acceptable range. The charger LED will turn orange and remain on. Charging will automatically begin once the battery warms.
