  • WARNING: Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. It warns against exposing the apparatus to rain or moisture.
  • CLASS II / Double Insulation: This symbol indicates that the apparatus is designed in a way that does not require a safety connection to electrical earth.
  • [Lightning Bolt Symbol]: The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle alerts users to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the enclosure that may pose a risk of electric shock.
  • [Exclamation Point Symbol]: The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle alerts users to important operating and maintenance instructions found in the accompanying literature.

Antenna Grounding Example (as per NEC): The diagram illustrates proper grounding for an antenna system, including grounding conductors, clamps, and discharge units, to protect against voltage surges and static charges.

Child Safety

Proper Television Placement Matters

The consumer electronics industry is committed to making home entertainment safe. All televisions, new and old, must be supported on proper stands or installed according to manufacturer recommendations. Improper placement on furniture like dressers, bookcases, or shelves can lead to tip-overs and injury.

Tune In To Safety

  • Always follow manufacturer recommendations for safe installation.
  • Always read and follow all instructions for proper use.
  • Never allow children to climb on or play on the television or its furniture.
  • Never place the television on furniture easily used as steps.
  • Always install the television where it cannot be pushed, pulled over, or knocked down.
  • Always route cords and cables so they cannot be tripped over, pulled, or grabbed.

Wall or Ceiling Mount Your Television

  • Contact your retailer for professional installation if unsure about mounting.
  • Always use a manufacturer-recommended mount certified by an independent laboratory (e.g., UL, CSA, ETL).
  • Always follow instructions from both television and mount manufacturers.
  • Ensure the wall or ceiling is appropriate for mounting; some mounts are not suitable for steel studs or cinder block construction. Consult a professional if unsure.
  • Televisions are heavy; a minimum of two people is required for wall or ceiling mounting.

Moving an Older Television

When moving older CRT televisions, place them on sturdy furniture appropriate for their size and weight. Never place them on dressers where children might climb, and ensure they do not overhang the furniture edge.

Notices and Compliance

Trademarks

Trademarks are the property of Koninklijke Philips N.V. or their respective owners. Funai Corporation reserves the right to change products without prior notice.

Pixel Characteristics

LCD products may display occasional black dots or bright points of light due to the high pixel density. This is a structural property within industry standards and not a malfunction.

Warranty

No components are user-serviceable. Do not open covers. Repairs must be done by authorized service centers. Failure to do so voids the warranty. Unauthorized operations or assembly procedures also void the warranty.

FCC/IC Compliance

This equipment complies with FCC/IC radiation exposure limits for uncontrolled environments and meets FCC RF Exposure Guidelines and IC RSS-102. The transmitter must not be co-located with any other antenna or transmitter. Operation is subject to two conditions: no harmful interference, and acceptance of any interference received. The 5150-5250 MHz band is restricted to indoor use.

Data transmission is initiated by software and the transmitter is only active during data transmission, automatically discontinuing when there is no information or an operational failure.

Positioning the TV

Large screen TVs are heavy; two people are recommended for handling. Ensure the unit is installed horizontally and stably, away from direct sunlight, dust, or strong vibrations. Avoid rapid temperature changes. Operating temperature range is 41°F (5°C) to 104°F (40°C). Do not place objects, especially lighted candles, on or under the unit. Ensure sufficient space between the TV and external devices to prevent noise or picture/sound disturbances. Connect all cables before plugging in the AC power cord. Ensure easy access to the AC power cord and outlet for disconnection. Unplug the AC power plug before moving or carrying the unit, and be careful not to pinch the cord.

Regulatory Notices

Stability Hazard

WARNING: To prevent injury, this apparatus must be securely attached to furniture/wall per instructions. Tipping, shaking, or rocking can cause injury or death. Never place a television in an unstable location. Take precautions like using recommended furniture, ensuring the TV is not overhanging, educating children about climbing dangers, securing cords, and anchoring furniture/TVs to suitable supports. Avoid placing the TV on unstable surfaces, tall furniture without anchoring, or on materials between the TV and furniture. Do not place tempting items for children on the TV or its furniture. If relocating an existing TV, apply the same safety considerations.

Do not place the unit on furniture that can be tilted by a child or adult. A falling unit can cause serious injury or death.

Ventilation

To avoid interrupting ventilation, do not place the unit in built-in equipment like cabinets or racks. Do not cover vents with tablecloths, curtains, or newspapers. Ensure at least 4 inches (10 cm) of ventilation space around the unit.

AC Power Plug

Press the power button to turn the unit on or enter standby mode. To completely turn off, unplug the AC power plug. Keep the AC plug readily accessible for disconnection during trouble or when not in use.

Never use a gas duster on this TV, as trapped gas may cause ignition and explosion.

Environmental Care

The packaging is intended for recycling. Contact local authorities for recycling information. For product recycling, visit www.recycle.philips.com.

End of Life Directives

Philips is committed to producing environmentally friendly products. Your TV contains recyclable materials. At the end of its life, specialized companies can dismantle it to recover reusable materials. Dispose of your old TV according to local regulations.

Battery Usage

CAUTION: Danger of explosion if batteries are replaced incorrectly. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.

WARNING: Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat (sunshine, fire, etc.). Do not mix old and new batteries, or mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries.

Disposal of Used Batteries: Batteries supplied are mercury and cadmium-free. However, local regulations may prohibit disposal with household waste. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations.
