02 Product Overview
Description of the camera components:
- Ambient Light Sensor
- Micro SD Card Slot: Supports local storage up to 128GB (Class 10, FAT32 format required).
- Reset button: Press and hold for 5-8 seconds to reset the camera to factory settings.
- Spotlights
Important Note: Insert the Micro SD Card carefully according to the diagram to prevent jamming and potential damage.
03 App Installation and Setup
To operate the camera, you need the CloudEdge app.
Downloading the App:
Search for "CloudEdge" on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or scan the provided QR code to download the app for iOS and Android devices.
Registering an Account:
- Open the CloudEdge app and navigate to the login interface. Click "Sign Up".
- Sign up using your email address and tap "Next".
- Set a "Nickname" and "Password" for your app account, then tap "Done" to complete the registration.
04 Mounting the Camera
Selecting Height and Location:
Hang the camera 7-10 ft (2-3 m) above the ground to maximize the motion sensor's detection range. Avoid placing the camera under direct sunlight.
Installation Steps:
- Drill holes according to the positioning sticker. Use a 15/64" (6 mm) drill bit.
- Insert the expansion bolts (plugs).
- Tighten the screws to secure the mounting bracket.
Required components for mounting: Positioning stickers, expansion bolts, camera, screws.
The camera offers a wide field of view with motion detection up to 30 ft (10 m).
05 Set up WiFi for the Camera
Ensure your router, mobile phone, and camera are close to each other (max 5 meters/16 feet) during setup.
Note: The camera only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi networks. It does not support 5 GHz signals.
- Log in to the "CloudEdge" app. Tap the "+" icon in the center and select "Camera" to add the device.
- Reset the device until a flashing red indicator light appears, then tap "Next".
- Select your home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, enter the password, and tap "Next".
- Point your mobile phone's screen towards the camera to scan the QR code displayed on your phone.
- When the scan is complete, you will hear a prompt tone. Push "Next".
- A successful connection will be indicated by a "click" sound and a checkmark. The camera will appear in the app, and you can rename it (e.g., "Driveway Camera").
Tip: Test the Wi-Fi signal strength at the installation location using your mobile phone before mounting the camera.
07 FAQ
- Q: The device cannot be previewed properly?
- A: Check if the network is normal. Place the camera closer to the router. If issues persist, reset the device and add it again.
- Q: Why is it still in the list of devices after resetting?
- A: Resetting the device only resets its network configuration, not the app configuration. You must remove the camera from the App manually.
- Q: How to "connect" the camera to another router?
- A: First, remove and reset the device in the App, then reconfigure it.
- Q: Why doesn't the device identify the SD card?
- A: Ensure the SD card is inserted when the camera is powered off and is fully inserted correctly. The SD card must be formatted with FAT32. Formatting can be done via the CloudEdge app.
- Q: Why can't I receive notifications via the mobile phone's app?
- A: Confirm the app is running on your phone and that notification functions, message notifications, and system permissions are enabled for the app.
