This document provides instructions and information for the S2 Scanning Translation Pen.
Introduction
The S2 Scanning Translation Pen is a portable device supporting scanning translation, voice translation, electronic dictionary, text excerpt, intelligent recording, and oral evaluation functions. It utilizes OCR recognition and image stitching technology, converting images into text and voice via TTS speech synthesis. It offers offline and online translation between multiple languages.

Scanning Notes
To scan text, position the pen so the scanning window crosses the front of the word, aligning with the center line of the window. Move the pen horizontally from left to right at a constant speed.
Correct Scanning Angle: The pen body is tilted appropriately, and the end face is parallel to the paper surface.
Incorrect Scanning Angle: The pen body forms an angle with the paper surface.
Power On/Off
Power On: When the device is powered off, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
Power Off: When powered on, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the power off button appears. Click the power off button to shut down. Alternatively, use the 'Timed Shutdown' option in settings. The device automatically shuts down after 30 minutes of inactivity to save power (this can be adjusted in settings).
Screen Operation Method
The device features a touch color display. Slide your finger left or right on the screen to switch between interfaces. Specific operations depend on the content displayed. Tap function icons to enter their respective interfaces.
Main Functions
Offline Scanning Translation
This function allows scanning and translating text from 10 languages (Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Russian, German, Thai, Indonesian) in books without an internet connection.
- Tap text to view strokes, radicals, traditional characters, meanings, words, and sentences.
- Tap the pen icon [pen icon] to view strokes, meanings, and stroke structure.
- Tap the microphone icon [microphone icon] to follow and practice pronunciation of Chinese characters or words.
- Tap a word in the translation to pop up an interface and use voice detection for pronunciation practice.
- Tap the star icon [star icon] to collect words, sentences, or phrases for later review.
Voice Translation
Connect to Wi-Fi. Select the translation direction (e.g., Chinese to English). Press and hold the volume down button to translate English to Chinese, and press and hold the volume up button to translate Chinese to Chinese (or other selected languages). Supports translation between 135 languages when connected to Wi-Fi.
Text Excerpt
Scan a QR code with your mobile phone to transfer scanned content to your phone. Alternatively, enter a URL on a computer to transfer scanned content to your computer. This feature supports text excerpting in 10 languages.
Dictionary
Includes six dictionaries: Chinese-English, English-Chinese, English-Japanese, Chinese idioms, and Tang poetry. Users can look up words or texts to get definitions, example sentences, and pronunciation (American and British English).
Word Bank
A software module for learning English words, featuring question-and-answer and memorization exercises. It covers vocabulary from primary, middle, and high school, CET-4/6, postgraduate entrance exams, IELTS, TOEFL, and GRE, totaling 10 word books. Words include American and British English pronunciation.
Favorites
Collects words, sentences, or video materials that users frequently forget. These can be accessed directly for review and to strengthen memory.
Oral Assessment
Users can read scanned text aloud to check their pronunciation fluency, completeness, accuracy, and receive an overall score. This feedback helps users improve their speaking skills.
Smart Recording
Tap the green dot icon [green dot icon] on the right to start recording. Recording content can be exported by connecting the device to a computer.
Connectivity
Wi-Fi
Turn on the Wi-Fi switch to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
Bluetooth
Turn on the Bluetooth switch to connect to Bluetooth devices for extended functionality.
System Settings
Volume Adjustment
Tap the 'Left speaker' icon [left speaker icon] to decrease volume and the 'Right speaker' icon [right speaker icon] to increase volume.
Brightness Adjustment
Tap the 'little sun on the left' icon [left sun icon] to decrease screen brightness and the 'little sun on the right' icon [right sun icon] to increase screen brightness.
Reverse Pen Grip
Supports both left-handed and right-handed pen grips, with different methods and directions.
Screen Off/Shutdown Time
Set screen-off and shutdown times after periods of inactivity.
Shutdown
Select the Shutdown option to turn off the device.
System Upgrade
Check for and install system updates via [Settings] > [System Upgrade] > [Check Update]. Ensure sufficient battery level for installation.
About Device
Displays basic device information such as model and version.
Product Declaration and Precautions
Users must read and follow instructions for correct and safe product use. The company is not responsible for damage caused by improper use, incompatible accessories, network failures, or unauthorized disassembly.
Charging and Battery Usage Precautions:
- Ensure the charging port is clean before charging.
- Connect the charging cable correctly; do not force it.
- Use a CCC-certified power adapter if not using the included cable.
- Discontinue use if the battery shows abnormalities (overheating, discoloration, deformation, leakage).
- Do not place the product with flammable materials during charging due to rising battery temperature.
- Do not disassemble, squeeze, heat, burn, or puncture the battery.
- Charge under adult supervision for children to reduce electric shock risk.
Maintenance and Care Precautions:
- Do not disassemble the product or accessories; contact after-sales service for faults.
- For general faults, press and hold the power button until the device turns off.
- Keep the product clean by wiping with a soft, dry cloth.
- Turn off the product before cleaning.
Waterproof Performance Statement:
This product is not waterproof. Avoid use in environments with splashing water or potential water ingress.
Warranty
Warranty terms apply to products sold in China by the company or authorized dealers. Return, replacement, and repair services require valid invoices and warranty certificates. National laws prevail if they conflict with these terms.
Warranty Card (User Copy)
Fields include: Name, Purchase Date, Place of Purchase, Family Address, School, Contact Information, Body Code, Product Number, Price, Postal Code, Class. Submit to the customer service center.
Warranty Card (Company Copy)
Fields include: Name, Purchase Date, Contact Information, Body Code, Product Number, After-sales Telephone, Customer Service Center Email. Includes a section for Maintenance Records (Date, Faulty Components and Solutions, Repair Person, User Signature).
Certificate
Includes fields for Production Qualified Stamp and Quality Inspector Stamp, confirming the product meets technical standards.
FCC Compliance
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) it may not cause harmful interference, and (2) it must accept any interference received. Changes not expressly approved by the responsible party may void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device. These limits provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. The equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If not installed and used per instructions, it may cause harmful interference to radio communications. There is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If interference occurs, users are encouraged to try measures such as reorienting the antenna, increasing separation between equipment and receiver, connecting to a different circuit, or consulting a dealer/technician.
The device has been evaluated to meet general RF exposure requirements and can be used in portable exposure conditions without restriction.
