Scythe Mugen 6 CPU Cooler Installation Guide

Product Overview

This document provides installation instructions for the Scythe Mugen 6 CPU Cooler (Model: SCMG-6000). It supports a wide range of Intel and AMD CPU sockets.

Important Note: Please peel off the protective film before installation.

Installation Steps

For Intel LGA 1700 / 1200 / 115X Sockets:

1. Prepare the Motherboard: Ensure the original backplate is used if applicable. For LGA 1700, the mounting bar is pre-installed. For LGA 1200/115X, attach the correct mounting bars.
2. Apply Thermal Grease: Apply a small, even amount of thermal grease to the center of the CPU.
3. Mount the Heatsink: Carefully place the heatsink onto the CPU. Align the mounting screws with the mounting holes on the motherboard.
4. Secure the Heatsink: Tighten the screws evenly from two sides in a cross pattern to ensure uniform pressure.
5. Attach the Fan: Install the fan clips onto the heatsink. Slide the fan onto the clips.
6. Connect Fan Cable: Connect the CPU fan cable to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard.

For AMD AM4 / AM5 Sockets:

1. Prepare the Motherboard: Please use the original backplate. Attach the AMD mounting plates to the heatsink.
2. Apply Thermal Grease: Apply a small, even amount of thermal grease to the center of the CPU.
3. Mount the Heatsink: Carefully place the heatsink onto the CPU. Align the mounting screws with the mounting holes on the motherboard.
4. Secure the Heatsink: Tighten the screws evenly from two sides in a cross pattern to ensure uniform pressure.
5. Attach the Fan: Install the fan clips onto the heatsink. Slide the fan onto the clips.
6. Connect Fan Cable: Connect the CPU fan cable to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard.

Fan Speed Control

The fan speed (Max/Min) is controlled by the PWM signal from the motherboard. This may vary depending on motherboard settings and equipment. For details, refer to your motherboard manual.

Scythe guarantees this product to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for two (2) years from the date of purchase. For warranty service, contact the store of purchase. Warranty is valid only if the product is installed correctly and used in the recommended environment. Scythe is not responsible for damages to hardware, software, or data due to misuse. Minor scratches from the manufacturing process do not affect product performance.
