- Select screws appropriate for the mounting surface material. Do not use wood screws or nails.
- If the mounting location (e.g., plasterboard) is weak, reinforce it to support the camera's total weight.
Installation Procedure
Step 1: Processing the Ceiling or Wall
To connect cables through holes opened in the ceiling or wall:
- Place the template (accessory) on the ceiling or wall.
- Mark the holes for the cable to pass through and for the fixing screws (3 places).
- Open the holes.
To connect cables through the side cable access hole (for S3131/S3111):
- When installing the camera directly on the ceiling or wall with cables exposed, cut out a portion of the enclosure to create a side cable access hole.
- Pass the cables through this side hole.
- IMPORTANT: Finish the edge of the side cable access portion with a file to avoid sharp edges and protect cables.
General Installation Notes:
- IMPORTANT: Turn off the power supply (PoE hub, etc.) before starting installation.
- Perform waterproofing to prevent water ingress through screw holes or wiring holes. (Applies to S3531/S3511/S3532/S3512)
- Use the template with the side marked with an arrow facing you.
- Ceiling installation: Place the template so the arrow points to the front of the camera (lens side).
- Wall installation: Place the template so the arrow points down.
- No ceiling or wall processing is required when installing to an existing junction box. (Applies to S3531/S3511/S3532/S3512)
Dimensions for hole placement (approximate):
- Outer circle: Ø96 mm {3-25/32 inches}
- Inner circle: Ø88.6 mm {3-1/2 inches}
- Screw hole spacing (example): 22 mm {7/8 inches}, 17 mm {21/32 inches}, 12 mm {15/32 inches}, 10.5 mm {13/32 inches}
- Side cable access hole: 22 mm {7/8 inches}, 17 mm {21/32 inches}
- Template angles: 23°, 24°, 36°, 37.5°, 39.5°
- Hole placement varies by model: Upper level for S3531/S3511/S3532/S3512; Lower level for S3131/S3111.
Step 2: Making Connections
For RJ45 Network Terminal (S3531/S3511):
- Connect an Ethernet cable (Category 5e or better, straight) to the RJ45 network terminal.
- Process for RJ45 Waterproof Connector:
- Pass the Ethernet cable through the RJ45 waterproof connector cap (accessory) and then through the RJ45 waterproof connector cover (accessory).
- Use a specialized tool (locally procured) to crimp the RJ45 plug (locally procured) to the cable end. Ensure rubber parts remain inside the connector cover.
- Insert the RJ45 plug into the RJ45 waterproof jack connected to the camera.
- Connect the RJ45 waterproof connector cover to the jack and rotate until the marks align.
- Connect the RJ45 waterproof connector cap to the cover and rotate until there is no gap.
- IMPORTANT:
- Ethernet cable external dimensions: Ø5 mm {Ø3/16 inches} to Ø6.5 mm {Ø1/4 inches}.
- Improper assembly of the waterproof connector may compromise waterproofing. Do not install where exposed to constant rain or moisture.
- When removing the connector, loosen the cap first, rotate the cover in the opposite direction of attachment, then remove. Avoid damaging the jack.
- Maximum cable length: 100 m {328 feet}.
For M12 Network Cable (S3532/S3512):
- Connect an Ethernet cable (Category 5e or better, straight) to the M12 (female) network cable.
- Insert the M12 plug into the M12 Network cable connected to the camera.
- Tightly fasten the connector by rotating both rings in opposite directions.
- Maximum cable length: 100 m {328 feet}.
Step 3: Mount the Camera
Installing Directly on Ceiling or Wall:
- Secure the camera with fixing screws (3 pcs., M4: locally procured).
- Minimum pull-out capacity per screw: 196 N {44 lbf}.
- For models S3532/S3512: When passing cables through the rear, use the cable guard (accessory) to conceal cables. Tighten the cable guard when fixing the camera.
- IMPORTANT: Do not touch the lens. Ensure fixing screws do not tangle cables.
Using a Two-Gang Junction Box (S3531/S3511/S3532/S3512):
- Install the camera to the junction box using screws (2 pcs., M4: locally procured).
- IMPORTANT: Prepare fixing screws according to the junction box specifications.
- Junction box shape example: 83.5 mm {3-9/32 inches}.
After securing the camera, connect power to the system (e.g., from a PoE hub).
Step 4: Configure Network Settings
Download and start the '[IP Setting Software]' (Control No.: C0123) or '[i-PRO Configuration Tool (ICT)]' (Control No.: C0133) from the i-PRO technical information support site: https://i-pro.com/global/en/surveillance/training_support/support/technical_information. Then, connect to the network.
Step 5: Adjustment
Adjusting the Camera's Angle of View:
- Horizontal (PAN) angle: Adjust by pinching the side parts of the camera unit. (Range: ±45°)
- Vertical (TILT) angle: Loosen the TILT/YAW fixing screw. Adjust by pinching the outside parts of the lens unit. (Range: 0° to 90°)
- Azimuth (YAW) angle: Adjust by pinching the outside parts of the lens unit. (Range: ±90°)
- IMPORTANT: Loosen the TILT/YAW fixing screw about 1 turn; do not unscrew it completely. Do not touch the lens during adjustment.
- Fix each part by tightening the TILT/YAW fixing screw. Recommended tightening torque: 0.2 N·m {0.15 lbf·ft}.
Notes on Adjustment:
- When mounted on a wall, the image may appear inverted. Use the 'Image rotation' setting (180° Upside-down) in the setup menu if needed.
- The camera's top, bottom, left, or right ends may be visible depending on the angle.
- Use 'Extra zoom' for 'Tele' side adjustments. Image quality may degrade at resolutions higher than VGA.
- Avoid strong light sources shining directly on the camera to prevent internal reflections on the dome cover.
- At night with IR LEDs, the screen may appear dark if the TILT angle is 75° or more. Refer to the support website for examples and details (Control No.: C0118).
- For information on displaying vertically long images, refer to the support website (Control No.: C0119).
Step 6: Attach the Enclosure
For Models S3531/S3511/S3532/S3512:
- Align the enclosure with the dome cover side and the camera front (indicated by a star symbol).
- Attach the enclosure to the camera by tightening the enclosure fixing screws (3 places) using the bit (accessory).
- IMPORTANT: Ensure the waterproof rubber in the enclosure slot does not slide out. If the enclosure is attached parallel to the camera body, the dome cover might collide with the camera unit. Securely tighten screws to prevent water damage or dropping; recommended torque: 0.8 N·m {0.59 lbf·ft}.
For Models S3131/S3111:
- Align the enclosure with the dome cover side and the camera front (indicated by a star symbol).
- Tighten the enclosure fixing screws (2 places) with a Phillips screwdriver.
- Close the screw cover.
- IMPORTANT: Ensure the waterproof rubber in the enclosure slot does not slide out. If the enclosure is attached parallel to the camera body, the dome cover might collide with the camera unit. Securely tighten screws to prevent water damage or dropping; recommended torque: 0.4 N·m {0.3 lbf·ft}.
After attaching the enclosure, remove the protective cover film from the outside of the dome cover. IMPORTANT: Do not touch the dome cover with your hands after removing the film.
