June 7: Soundcore is recalling select A3102 Anker speakers due to potential battery issues that pose a fire safety risk.
Product(s) Affected
The affected products are Anker A3102 speakers manufactured in March and April 2023. These specific units are black, identified by model number A3102, and feature a 16-digit serial number located on the bottom of the speaker. Consumers are advised to check their speaker's serial number to verify if their unit is included in this recall.
Please note that models not included in this recall are the Anker Soundcore 2, Soundcore 3, and any colored Anker Soundcore speakers.
What to do if you have the product(s)
If you own an affected speaker, turn it off immediately. If you purchased the speaker through a retailer, you may receive an email notification regarding this recall. Once you have confirmed that your speaker is part of the recall (by checking the serial number via the link above), Soundcore will provide detailed instructions on how to return or dispose of the speaker. Soundcore will also send you a free replacement speaker.
Due to the fire risk associated with lithium-ion batteries, local and state ordinances prohibit their disposal in household trash or general recycling bins. They should also not be placed in battery recycling boxes found at retailers or home improvement stores. Proper disposal of your device must be done at a facility that specifically accepts lithium batteries.
