FOTA Software Upgrade Guide for A55, A56

If you have already activated the phone:

  1. Go to Settings → About phone, and check the current software version. The software version should be either Android_FOXXD_A55_S5516_T_V1.0_20240521 or Android_FOXXD_A55_S5516_T_V1.0_20240614.

  2. Ensure Wi-Fi is turned on.

  3. Navigate to Settings → System. You will see a notification stating "System update Update available". Click on "System update" to proceed.

  4. Upon entering the update screen, you will see an "Installation paused" message. Click "Resume" to begin the installation.

  5. The new software will be downloaded over the air (FOTA) to the phone. A downloading progress notification will be displayed. Once the FOTA download is complete, a successful confirmation will appear. Note that the FOTA process typically takes approximately 30 minutes.

  6. After the upgrade, go to Settings → About phone and verify that the software version is Android_FOXXD_A55_S5516_T_V1.0_20240723. If this version is displayed, the newer software has been successfully installed via FOTA. Click 'reboot' to restart the phone, and it will function normally.

If you just open the box and haven't activated the phone:

  1. Power up the device, then select a network and connect to Wi-Fi.

  2. The phone will enter a loading page. After loading, it will prompt you to update the phone's software.

  3. Click 'Next' to proceed to the upgrade page, then click 'Resume' to start the upgrade process.

  4. Once the upgrade is complete, you will be prompted to reboot your phone. Click 'reboot' to restart, and the phone will operate normally.
