Operation
Before First Use
[NOTE] Do not store goods in the refrigerator for the first 4 hours after start-up.
A mild odor may be present on first use, which will disappear after a few hours. Air out the living space well.
Cooling capacity can be affected by ambient temperature, amount of food, and frequency of door opening.
Clean the inside of the refrigerator for hygienic reasons (see "Cleaning and maintenance" on page 16).
Park the vehicle on a level surface, especially when starting up and filling the refrigerator before a journey.
Information on Storing Food
[CAUTION] Health Hazard If exposed to ambient temperatures below +10 °C for extended periods, the frozen compartment temperature regulation may be compromised, leading to defrosting of stored goods.
[NOTICE] Damage Hazard Observe maximum load per door shelf and door (see "Technical data" on page 20). Do not keep carbonated drinks in the frozen compartment.
Store food as shown in Figure 3.
Saving Energy
- Open the refrigerator as infrequently and for as short a time as possible.
- Allow warm food to cool down before placing it in the refrigerator.
- Defrost the refrigerator as soon as a layer of ice forms.
- Avoid unnecessarily low temperature settings.
- Position shelves and drawers according to their original placement for optimal energy consumption.
- Ensure the door seal fits properly.
- Clean dust and dirt from the condenser regularly.
Opening the Refrigerator Door
[NOTE] Ensure to pull the handle on the opposite side to the door stop. Refer to the installation manual for slider position.
To open the door, follow the steps shown in Figure 4.
Closing and Securing the Refrigerator Door
[CAUTION] Risk of Injury If the door is not secured correctly, push on the top and bottom of the door until it is secured.
[NOTE] The refrigerator door has a latching mechanism used for transport protection.
Press the door shut until you hear a click at the top and bottom (Figure 5). The door is now closed and secured.
Switching On and Off
[NOTE] Always switch off the refrigerator if you will not use it for a prolonged period.
To switch on, press and hold the [info-button] button for at least 2 seconds. The refrigerator starts with the last selected cooling level and operation mode.
To switch off, press and hold the [info-button] button for at least 2 seconds.
Setting the Operation Modes
[NOTE] The system stays in the selected ECO, PERFORMANCE, FREEZER, or WINTER mode until further changes are made.
To set the operation mode, press the button repeatedly until the indicator LED for the desired mode lights up.
Available operation modes:
- Using the ECO mode: Activates reduced energy consumption at cooling levels 1-3. The ECO mode indicator LED and selected cooling level LED light up.
- Using the QUIET mode: Activates reduced noise level at cooling levels 1-4. The QUIET mode indicator LED and selected cooling level LED light up. [NOTE] QUIET mode is not available in FREEZER mode. It reverts to the previous mode after 8 hours.
- Using the PERFORMANCE mode: Standard operation at cooling levels 1-5. The PERFORMANCE mode indicator LED and selected cooling level LED light up.
- Using the FREEZER mode: Cools the entire interior to –6 °C. Remove the frozen compartment before using this mode. [NOTE] FREEZER mode is not available in WINTER mode. The FREEZER mode indicator LED and all cooling level LEDs light up continuously.
- Using the WINTER mode (only NRX1115–1130): For operation at low ambient temperatures. [NOTE] Cold air can impact cooling unit performance. Activate WINTER mode if cooling capacity is lost in the frozen compartment. Deactivate when ambient temperature rises above +16 °C to avoid higher power consumption. WINTER mode is not available in FREEZER mode. To activate/deactivate, follow Figure 6. The WINTER mode indicator LED lights up green.
Setting the Cooling Level
To avoid food waste:
- Keep temperature fluctuation low. Open the refrigerator as infrequently and for as short a time as possible. Store food to allow air circulation.
- Adjust the temperature to the quantity and type of foodstuff.
- Store foodstuff as shown in figures.
- Foodstuff can absorb or release odor; store covered or in closed containers.
To set the cooling level, press the button repeatedly until the desired level is reached.
Repositioning the Shelves
[WARNING] Risk of Child Entrapment (NRX1060–1130) All shelves are fixed to prevent children from climbing inside. Only remove shelves for cleaning. Refit and secure them.
[NOTE] Remove the frozen compartment before repositioning shelves for easier access to rear shelf knobs.
To reposition shelves, follow Figures 7 and 8.
Removing the Frozen Compartment
[NOTICE] Damage Hazard Close the frozen compartment door before removing. Grasp the compartment by the bottom, not the door. Store it in a dry, safe place.
To remove the frozen compartment, follow Figure 9.
Cleaning and Maintenance
[WARNING] Electrocution Hazard Always disconnect the refrigerator from the energy supply before cleaning and servicing.
[NOTICE] Damage Hazard Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or hard objects. Never use hard or sharp tools to remove ice. Ensure no water drips into seals, as this can damage electronics.
[NOTICE] Damage Hazard The light source can only be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or similarly qualified person.
Clean the interior and exterior regularly with a damp cloth. Wipe dry afterwards.
Check and clean the condensate drain regularly. If blocked, condensate collects at the bottom of the refrigerator.
The refrigerant circuit is maintenance-free.
Defrosting the Refrigerator
[NOTICE] Damage Hazard Do not use mechanical or other tools to speed up defrosting.
[NOTE] Frost builds up on the back wall. If the frost layer is about 3 mm thick, defrost the refrigerator.
To defrost, follow Figure 10.
Positioning the Refrigerator Door into Winter Position
[CAUTION] Risk of Injury The winter position must not be used while driving.
[NOTE] Use the winter position if the device will not be used for a longer period to prevent mold.
- Defrost the refrigerator (see "Defrosting the Refrigerator" on page 16).
- Position the refrigerator door into winter position as shown in Figures 11 and 12.
Troubleshooting
[NOTE] To safely operate 12 V units while driving, ensure the towing vehicle provides sufficient voltage. Vehicle battery management systems may automatically switch off units to protect the battery. Consult your vehicle manufacturer.
