1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing a Hama product. Please take your time and read the following instructions and information completely. Keep these operating instructions in a safe place for future reference. If you sell the device, please pass these operating instructions on to the new owner.
1.1 Correct Use
The smart socket is suitable for convenient control via the app, voice commands, and automations. The device is only suitable for indoor use. Any other use is considered incorrect. Unauthorized modifications or conversions are not permitted and will invalidate the warranty. Do not open your device yourself under any circumstances and do not attempt to carry out any repairs yourself.
1.2 Explanation of Warning Symbols and Notes

3. Safety Instructions

Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
Risk of Electric Shock ⚡
- Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
- Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
- Do not use the product if the AC adapter, adapter cable, or power cable is damaged.
- Do not operate while covered.
- Voltage-free only when plug is disconnected.
- Only operate with closed safety covers.
General Safety Precautions
- Protect the product from dirt, moisture, and overheating; use it in dry environments only.
- This product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
- Use the product only for the intended purpose.
- Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters, other heat sources, or in direct sunlight.
- Only use the article under moderate climatic conditions.
- Do not use the product in areas where electronic products are not permitted.
- Do not use the product in a damp environment and avoid splashing water.
- Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
- Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
- Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
- Dispose of packaging material immediately in accordance with the locally applicable regulations.
- Never connect multiple units of this product in series.
- Do not use any heat-generating devices (such as electric blankets, coffee machines, etc.) with this product. There is a risk of fire and injury.
- Do not use this product with any devices that are motorized or devices that have a rotating component or tool. There is a risk of injury.
4. Setup
The following steps are required to commission the device:
- Connect the device to a properly installed and easily accessible mains socket.
- Put the device in pairing mode by holding the button for around 5 seconds. The LED starts to flash quickly.
4.1 Installing the Hama Smart Home App
To use all the functions of the device, you need a smartphone/tablet and the Hama Smart Home app.
Supported Operating Systems:
- iOS 16.3 or later
- Android 6.0 or later
Download the Hama Smart Home app from the App Store (iOS) or from Google Play (Android) to your smartphone/tablet. Follow the on-screen instructions for installation. Grant necessary app permissions for full functionality. Register to create a new account, or log in with your existing account. Follow the app setup instructions until you can add a new device (see Chapter 4.2).

4.2 Integration into the Hama Smart Home App
After successful installation of the device and app, integrate the device into the app:
- Start the Hama Smart Home app on your smartphone/tablet.
- Tap the [Add device] button or the plus sign (top right).
- Tap the "Scan QR code" button (top right).
- Scan the QR code on your item.

If the QR code is recognized, setup begins. You will need to confirm your 2.4 GHz network data. The setup process can take up to 3 minutes. Once complete, you can customize the item's name.
4.3 Connecting via a Third-Party App
Thanks to the Matter wireless standard, you can control this item in compatible third-party apps in addition to the Hama app. Note that the full range of functions is available only when using the Hama Smart Home app.
4.3.1 Share after initial integration in Hama Smart Home App:
If you have already set up the item in the Hama Smart Home app but want to share it for control in a third-party app, follow these steps: Open the item and navigate to the item settings using the pencil icon ✏️. Then, generate a customized QR code and numerical code via the "Share via Matter" option.
4.3.2 Initial connection via a Third-Party App
You can also use our items without first connecting them to the Hama Smart Home app. Please follow these steps:
- Open your chosen Matter-compatible app and start device connection.
- Press and hold the button on the socket for approximately 5 seconds until the LED starts to flash.
- Scan the QR code on the side of the socket with the corresponding app.
Note ℹ️: Please ensure that the app you have selected supports the Matter standard. Find out about further requirements set by the provider and follow them as necessary.
5. Setting Options in the Hama Smart Home App
The following settings can be made in the app:
- Switch On / Off: Basic power control.
- Schedule: Settings for time controls (e.g., timer, schedule, etc.).
- Function settings: (Switching sequence, LED mode, etc.).
For extended usage options, scenarios can be created in the app (see Section 6 and App Guide).

6. Extended Usage Options with Scenarios
Scenarios and automated sequences created in the app allow various combination and usage options with other SmartHome products in your home. Programming is always done via the app (see Section 4 of the App Guide) and will be offered/suggested to you individually.
Examples of standard usage scenarios:
- Scenario 1: A sun icon (representing day/night cycle) ☀️/☁️, followed by the Smart Plug, leading to outdoor string lights illuminated ???.
- Scenario 2: A smartphone icon ?, followed by the Smart Plug, leading to a garden sprinkler activated ?.
- Scenario 3: A microphone icon ?, followed by the Smart Plug, leading to a Christmas tree illuminated ?.

8. Care and Maintenance
Note ℹ️: Disconnect the device from the mains before cleaning and during prolonged periods of non-use.
Clean this product using a lint-free, slightly damp cloth and do not use any harsh cleaners.
