Overview
The Altronix Tempo2 Digital Test / Trigger Mode Timer is suitable for many applications that require a timed operation. Examples include delayed egress with a programmable 1-60 second door release after delay expires, door prop alarm, door annunciator, and alarm swinger eliminator. The digital display facilitates ease of programming and indicates the time remaining before relay activation. A Daily/Weekly test mode can be used to trigger digital communicators or radio transmitters and provide Central Stations with an alarm test signal.

- Triggers: Via dry contact closure.
- Output: Dry Form “C” contacts rated at 2A @ 120VAC/28VDC.
- Display: LCD display facilitates programming and indicates countdown status.
- Current Draw: Stand-by 15mA, relay energized 30mA.
- Functionality: Dual function - test timer/one shot.
- Memory: EE Prom memory protects against loss of programming due to power failure.
- Dimensions: Board dimensions (L x W x H approximate): 3” x 2.5” x 0.75” (76.2mm x 63.5mm x 19.1mm).
One-Shot Features (Trigger Activated)
Programmable relay activation at the start or end of the timing cycle.
- a. Delayed Pulse Mode: 1 to 60 sec. programmable pulse at the end of the timing cycle.
- b. Delay Mode: Relay can be programmed to energize or de-energize during the timing cycle (digitally adjustable from 1 sec. to 24 hours).
Diagram Description: The Tempo2 unit features a large LCD display. Below the display are two control buttons: and . To the left are input terminals: POWER 12-24 VDC/VAC (4 terminals), IN1 (4 terminals), and Dry Trigger (2 terminals). To the right are output terminals: Dry output with NC, C, and NO (Normally Closed, Common, Normally Open) contacts.
Test Timer Options
Programmable weekly or daily test. The test can be programmed for a specific day and time.
- Depress and Hold for 2 seconds until appears in the display.
- Depress . will appear in the display.
- Depress and Hold for two (2) seconds. will appear in the display. Enter the current day of the week by depressing to make the selection.
- Depress . will appear in the display. Enter the current hour of day by depressing to make the selection.
- Depress . will appear in the display. Enter the current minute of day by depressing to make the selection.
- Depress . will appear in the display.
- Depress twice. will appear in the display.
- Depress and Hold for two (2) seconds. will appear in the display. Enter the desired day of the week by depressing to make the selection (MO-SU or ** for every day test).
- Depress . will appear in the display. Enter the desired hour of day by depressing to make the selection.
- Depress . will appear in the display. Enter the desired minute of day by depressing to make the selection.
- Depress . will appear in the display. Depress to select duration of relay operation (1-60 seconds), then depress to accept.
Trigger Mode Programming
- Depress . will appear in the display.
- Depress and Hold for 2 seconds until will appear in the display. Enter the desired amount of hours by depressing to make the selection.
- Depress . will appear in the display. Enter the desired amount of minutes by depressing to make the selection.
- Depress . will appear in the display. Enter the desired amount of seconds by depressing to make the selection.
- Depress . will appear in the display. Depress to select pulse duration (1-60 seconds). If pulse is not needed, skip to step 6.
- Depress . will appear in the display. Enter the desired trigger option (OFF, ON, CNG) by depressing to make the selection. Removal of trigger will start the time cycle. OFF option starts timing cycle when trigger is removed. ON option starts timing cycle when trigger is applied. CNG option starts timing cycle when trigger is removed or applied.
- Depress . will appear in the display. Enter the desired relay option (OFF, ON, PLS) by depressing to make the selection. OFF option: relay turns off at the end of the timing cycle. ON option: relay energizes at the end of the timing cycle. Pulse option: relay energizes momentarily (1 to 60 sec). Depress to accept.
Tempo2 Typical Applications

The Tempo2 is connected to a "CHIME" device. Power is supplied to the POWER 12-24 VDC/VAC terminals. The Dry Trigger terminals are connected to "Normally open door contacts". The Dry output terminals (NC, C, NO) are connected to the chime, with the chime's positive terminal to the NO contact and the negative terminal to the C contact. Recommended settings: Trigger "CHG", Relay "PULSE".

The Tempo2 is connected to a "DIALER OR TRANSMITTER". Power is supplied to the POWER 12-24 VDC/VAC terminals. The Dry Trigger terminals are connected to "Normally open switch contacts". The Dry output terminals are connected to the dialer/transmitter. Recommended settings: Trigger "CHG", Relay "OFF".

The Tempo2 is connected to a "closed circuit zone on control panel". Power is supplied to the POWER 12-24 VDC/VAC terminals. The Dry Trigger terminals are connected to a "Protective circuit". The Dry output terminals are connected to the control panel zone. Recommended settings: Trigger "OFF", Relay "ON".

Use for Door Ajar Alarm, Delayed Activation of Digital Dialer, Defrost Cycle Timer, etc...
The Tempo2 is connected to a "SOUNDER". Power is supplied to the POWER 12-24 VDC/VAC terminals. The Dry Trigger terminals are connected to either "Normally open" or "normally closed switch contacts". The Dry output terminals are connected to the sounder. For Normally Closed trigger contacts, use Trigger "OFF", Relay "ON". For Normally Open trigger contacts, use Trigger "ON", Relay "ON".

The Tempo2 is connected to a door lock mechanism. Power is supplied to the POWER 12-24 VDC/VAC terminals. The Dry Trigger terminals are connected to "Normally open door contacts". The Dry output terminals are connected to the lock. Recommended settings: Trigger "CHG", Relay "OFF".

Use to bypass alarm contacts.
The Tempo2 is used to bypass alarm contacts. Power is supplied to the POWER 12-24 VDC/VAC terminals. The Dry Trigger terminals are connected to "Normally open or normally closed switch contacts" which are part of the "Door Contacts Protective Circuit". The Dry output terminals are connected to the circuit. Recommended settings: Trigger "CHG", Relay "OFF".

The Tempo2 provides delayed egress. Power is supplied to the POWER 12-24 VDC/VAC terminals. The Dry Trigger terminals are connected to "Normally open or normally closed switch contacts". The Dry output terminals are connected to the egress control. Recommended settings: Trigger "CHG", Relay "PULSE".

The Tempo2 is configured as a Test Timer, connected to a "DIALER OR TRANSMITTER". Power is supplied to the POWER 12-24 VDC/VAC terminals. The Dry Trigger and Dry output terminals are connected to the dialer/transmitter.
