Setup
Unpack the box, power the device, and choose one of the following setup options:
FortiExplorer
- Download FortiExplorer for your OS.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device for BLE or connect your mobile USB cable into the device.
GUI
- Connect the Management Computer to Port 1 using an Ethernet Cable.
- Configure the management computer with IP
192.168.1.x
and subnet255.255.255.0
. - Access the GUI via
https://192.168.1.99
(Username:admin
, Password: leave blank).
CLI
- Connect the Management Computer to the Console Port using a USB Console Cable (available for purchase).
- Configure your terminal emulator with the following settings: Speed (default): 9600, Data bits: 8, Stop bits: 1, Parity: None, Flow Control: None.

Installation
Rack Mount Installation:
Caution: To avoid personal injury or damage to the device, it is recommended that two or more people mount the device on a rack. Note: The recommended clearance is 1.5 inches above and below the device.
Desktop Installation:
Place the device on a flat, clean, and stable surface with 1.5 inches of clearance.
SFP Modules
Insertion: Insert the SFP module into the Cage Socket until it locks. Ensure the Tx (transmit) and Rx (receive) ports are correctly aligned.
Removal: Press the lock mechanism on the SFP module and gently pull the SFP out of the Cage Socket.
FG-120G Series Front Panel
The front panel features various ports and status indicators:
- 1. BLE/RESET Button: Press to enable BLE; press and hold for system reset.
- LED Status: Blue (BLE connected), Flashing Blue (BLE in discovery), Off (BLE not connected).
- 2. STATUS LED: Green (Operating normally), Flashing Green (Booting up), Red (Major alarm detected), Off (Device is off).
- 2. ALARM LED: Red (Major alarm detected), Amber (Minor alarm detected), Off (No alarm).
- 2. HA LED: Green (Operating in an HA cluster), Red (HA failure), Off (HA disabled).
- 2. POWER LED: Green (Two PSUs are active), Red (One PSU is active), Off (Power is off).
- 3. USB (USB A): USB 3.0 server port.
- 4. Console (RJ45): For CLI management.
- 5. HA (RJ45):
- LINK/ACT (Left LED): Green (Link established), Flashing Green (Data activity), Off (No link established).
- SPEED (Right LED): Green (1 Gbps), Amber (100 Mbps), Off (10 Mbps or not in use).
- 5. MGMT (RJ45):
- LINK/ACT (Left LED): Green (Link established), Flashing Green (Data activity), Off (No link established).
- SPEED (Right LED): Green (1 Gbps), Amber (100 Mbps), Off (10 Mbps or not in use).
- 6. Ports 1 to 16 (RJ45):
- LINK/ACT (Left LED): Green (Link established), Flashing Green (Data activity), Off (No link established).
- SPEED (Right LED): Green (1 Gbps), Amber (100 Mbps), Off (10 Mbps or not in use).
- 7. FortiLink Ports X1 to X4 (SFP+): Green (Link established at 10/1 Gbps), Flashing Green (Data activity), Off (No link established).
- 8. Ports 17 to 24 (SFP): Green (Link established at 1 Gbps), Flashing Green (Data activity), Off (No link established).
FG-120G Series Rear Panel
The rear panel contains the power supply units:
- 1. Redundant Power Supplies (PSU1, PSU2): Support 100-240VAC, 50-60Hz, 1.5A Max input.

- Ambient operating temperature: 0°C to 40°C.
Rack Mount Instructions:

SFP Modules
Insertion: Insert the SFP module into the Cage Socket until it locks. Ensure the Tx (transmit) and Rx (receive) ports are correctly aligned.
Removal: Press the lock mechanism on the SFP module and gently pull the SFP out of the Cage Socket.
Safety
Battery: Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire as they may explode. Dispose of used batteries according to your local regulations.
Shock Hazard: Disconnect all power sources before servicing.
Grounding: To prevent damage to your equipment, connections entering from outside the building should pass through a lightning/surge protector and be properly grounded. Use an electrostatic discharge (ESD) workstation and/or wear an anti-static wrist strap while working. This product has a separate protective earthing terminal on the back panel, in addition to the grounding terminal of the attachment plug. This separate terminal must be permanently connected to earth with a green with yellow stripe conductor (minimum size #20 AWG) and the connection must be installed by qualified service personnel.
