The Essentials

Secure your Network

Register at https://support.fortinet.com for the latest threat protection updates.

GUI Setup

  1. Connect MGMT to an Ethernet port or USB-RJ45 Ethernet adapter on your computer using the provided Ethernet cable.
  2. Open a browser to https://192.168.1.99.

CLI Setup

  1. Connect a console cable to the Console Port.
  2. Open a Terminal app using 9600-8-N-1.

Default Login

URL: https://192.168.1.99

Username: admin

Password: leave blank

Mounting Options

Desktop Mount

Place the device on a flat, clean and stable surface.

Rack Mount

The recommended clearance is 1.5 inches above and below the device. To avoid personal injury or damage to the device, it is recommended that two or more people mount the device on a rack.

Front FG-200G Series

  1. Signed Firmware: BIOS Security Level. Controlled by Signed Firmware Switch. See Admin Guide at https://docs.fortinet.com.
    • High: Unsigned firmware blocked (default)
    • Low: Unsigned firmware allowed with a warning
  2. BLE / RESET: Press to enable BLE; press and hold for system reset.
    • Blue: BLE connected
    • Flashing Blue: BLE in discovery
    • Off: BLE off
  3. STATUS:
    • Green: Operating normally
    • Flashing Green: Booting up
    • Off: Device is off
    HA:
    • Green: HA enabled (normal)
    • Red: HA enabled (failover)
    • Off: HA disabled
  4. ALARM:
    • Red: Critical alarm
    • Amber: Minor alarm
    • Off: No alarms
    POWER:
    • Green: Both PSUs operating
    • Red: One PSU is operating
    • Off: Power not detected
