Guardo Fit Coach Viva - User Manual
Congratulations on purchasing your Guardo Fit Coach Viva! This sports watch features a heart rate monitor, tracks your steps, calories burned, analyzes your sleep cycle, and registers your sports activities with its multisports mode.
Getting Started: Step-by-Step
- Charge your activity tracker.
- Download and install the ‘Guardo Fit Coach Track' App from Google Play or the App Store on your smartphone or tablet (compatible operating systems: iOS 8.0 & above, Android 4.4 & above, Bluetooth 4.2 or higher).
- Connect your smartphone/tablet with your Fit Coach activity tracker via the App.
- The correct time and date will now appear on your watch.
- Get started.
1. Parts and Buttons
The Guardo Fit Coach Viva consists of the following parts:
- 1. Main unit / host
- 2. Built-in USB-charger
- 3. Removable straps
- 4. Color display
- 5. Touch-button
You can check data using the Touch-button:
- Press the Touch-button to activate the watch screen. The following information will appear: Date, battery level, Bluetooth indication, and time.
- By pressing the Touch-button shortly, you will navigate step-by-step through your watch data: activity data, heart rate, sports mode, etc.
- Holding the Touch-button pressed for 2 seconds allows you to see more detailed information for the selected function/mode.
2. Charging the Fit Coach Viva
To charge your device:
- Gently pull the straps apart and remove the main unit.
- Connect the main unit with its built-in charging part to a USB power source such as a laptop, USB home charger, or power bank.
- After approximately 1 hour, your Fit Coach watch will be fully charged.
- After a few moments, the Fit Coach will vibrate briefly, a battery symbol will be shown briefly on the display, and a red LED will turn ON. If nothing happens, turn the tracker around, as it might be upside down in the USB socket.
Remarks:
- The working time after fully charging the main unit is a maximum of 7 days.
- The battery status can also be checked in the App.
3. Pairing the Device with Your Smartphone
To connect your Fit Coach:
- Ensure Bluetooth is switched ON on your smartphone/tablet.
- The Fit Coach should only be connected via the App, NOT directly via Bluetooth settings.
- Check your smartphone/tablet's Bluetooth menu. If the Fit Coach is listed among paired devices, you must first disconnect/forget this connection before connecting it with the App.
- To connect the device, you need a compatible mobile phone or tablet. Install the Guardo Fit Coach Track App.
After opening the App, you may need to swipe through two initial startup screens (showing people sporting or sleeping). You will then need to grant the App permission when prompted.
The App will then start searching for the Fit Coach. Activate the Fit Coach screen (it remains active for the longest time in heart rate mode). If the App indicates multiple Fit Coaches, yours is usually listed at the top with the lowest number next to it.
Press the App screen to select your Fit Coach and wait for the green check mark symbol to appear. Then press "BIND". The App will synchronize to 100%, after which the Fit Coach is connected.
Connectivity and Data Synchronization
- The Bluetooth connected range between the watch and smartphone/tablet is 5 to 10 meters maximum.
- Within this range, you can synchronize your data between the smartwatch and phone.
- Outside this range, you cannot synchronize your data.
Once you re-enter the range, the Fit Coach watch will AUTOMATICALLY re-connect to the selected smartphone/tablet device. Manual synchronization is possible by dragging down the Home screen in the App.
Once connected, the App will automatically display the correct date and time and save/analyze data related to your heart rhythm, activities, and sleep status.
Important: If you "UNBIND" the App from your Fit Coach device, all data will be lost. If the "anti-lost" setting is ON, your Fit Coach will vibrate when the smartphone is out of Bluetooth range and the connection is lost (up to 10m). It automatically re-connects when you re-enter the Bluetooth range.
Remarks:
- If you wish to terminate the connection between the App and the Fit Coach (UNBIND), ensure that the Bluetooth function is switched OFF, otherwise all stored data will be lost!
- To synchronize data from the Fit Coach to your App, there must always be an active Bluetooth connection between the watch and the App. Make sure the screen of your Fit Coach is active.
4. User Settings
For optimal activity tracking and calculation, it is advised to enter your personal data:
- Profile Data: Gender, Height, Weight. This influences the calculation and registration of your daily activity.
- Personal Targets: Number of steps per day, hours of sleep per night.
5. Fit Coach Display & Interfaces
To switch between display data, briefly press the touch button:
1. Standby Screen
Displays Time, Date, and Battery status.
2. Activity Tracking
Shows Steps, Distance, Workout time, and Calories.
Press and hold the button for 2 seconds for detailed information on Steps, Distance, Workout time, and Calories.
3. Heart Rate
Actual heart rate data appears after a few seconds.
4. Sports Mode
Press the button once (1x) to go to the next Sport. Sports types can be selected in the App.
Press and hold the button for 2 seconds to activate a specific sports mode and view detailed info: Time, Steps, Calories, Distance, Speed, Average Speed, Heart rate.
Press and hold the button for 2 seconds again to exit the sports mode.
5. Alarm Clock
The alarm clock is only displayed when activated in the App.
6. Stopwatch
Provides stopwatch functionality.
6. The App – Some Facts
The App consists of 5 main parts: Main Page, Details, Multisports Mode, Device, and User.
A. Main Page
Shows your ACTIVITY (steps) & SLEEP & HEARTRATE.
You can check:
- Number of steps made during a specific day (24hrs).
- Sleep monitoring: Shows 3 levels: DEEP, LIGHT, and AWAKE sleep (detects from the moment you go to bed until you wake up).
- Your heart rate.
There are always 2 screens available: by exact figure or by graphs. You switch screens by tapping on the data screen.
To update data, simply refresh by dragging down the screen with your finger. The synchronization status (0% to 100%) is shown at the top of the screen. You can share your data on Twitter, Facebook, etc., by pressing the share icon. Tapping on "Today" at the top allows you to request data from a previous day.
B. Details
Displays your step, sleep, and heart rate data in a statistical view (Weekly, Monthly, Yearly). You can change the time period by clicking on the calendar icon.
C. Multisports Mode
Refer to Chapter 6 for details.
D. Device
You can switch ON or OFF various ALERTS (call alert, SMS alert, anti-lost alert, etc.). Alerts are indicated by VIBRATION on your Fit Coach. You can also activate various SETTINGS, such as wrist sense, auto heart-rate, and camera control.
Alerts and Settings Details:
- Call alert: Notification of incoming calls with Caller ID. Default setting alerts after 3 seconds; adjustable.
- Sedentary Alert: Notifies you when you have been sitting still for too long.
- Alarm Alert: Provides alarm notifications on your wrist via watch vibration.
- SNS Alert: Notifies you of activity on Facebook, Whatsapp, etc.
- Camera: Use your Fit Coach as a remote shutter to take pictures. When ON, pressing your watch can shoot a picture or movie.
- Heart Rate Detection: Choose between automatic or manual measurement.
- Wrist Sense: When ON, the device responds to wrist movement; the display turns ON when making wrist movement. Default is OFF. When OFF, you activate the screen by touching it.

The watch displays standard activities, and a maximum of 3 activities can be selected.
To choose other activities:
- Select the activity you wish to delete.
- Android: Press and hold the activity for 2 seconds, then choose "YES" if prompted.
- Apple: On your phone, slide the activity to the left and choose 'Delete'.
- To add an activity, press the '+' icon. You will see an overview of available activities. Select the desired activity and confirm by pressing at the top.
The selected activities will be available on your watch.
Activities like hiking, walking, and cycling are marked 'GPS ON'. These allow you to view the route traveled via GPS connection with your smartphone. More information is in Chapter 6 - Multisport Mode.
Additional Settings:
- Dial Face: You can change the watch face in the app; various options are available.
- Multilanguage Environment: Choose the language displayed on your watch.
- Time Format: Choose between 12h or 24h display.
- Heart Rhythm Interval: Set your personalized preference for heart rhythm during exercise.
- Do Not Disturb Mode: Turn off notifications for a specific period.
- Display Brightness: Select the desired screen brightness.
- Restart Device: To restart your device.
- Update Device: To update your device.
Attention: You can also UNBIND your Fit Coach from the App. Unbinding the Fit Coach will result in loss of data!
E. User
Adjust Target settings (for daily steps, daily sleep), update your profile, or profile photo.
Select System settings to switch between metric or imperial systems, check for App updates, and more.
You can also share your data with Google Fit.
6. Multisports Mode
Normal Mode: For checking all standard data on your device and smartphone App.
Sports Mode: Specifically designed for tracking statistics during your workouts. Press the '+' sign in the app at the bottom.
You will see 3 different icons. Sports requiring smartphone GPS activation include running, walking, cycling, and hiking.
Within the app's settings menu (accessed via the '...' icon), you can select your activity and activate desired settings. Pressing the "Play" button starts and registers your activity.
Below, you will find all other sports/activities that can be selected. Choose the requested activity.
Weight Registration: If desired, you can register your daily weight here.
7. Troubleshooting
- Fit Coach no longer connected to App: Shut down all Apps on your smartphone/tablet. Turn Bluetooth OFF and ON again, then open the Fit Coach App and reconnect.
- App compatibility notification: You can download and install the app from the website: http://www.mrsafe.be/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/GuardoFitCoachTrack_V1.2.9_241.apk
- Date and time incorrect: Connect and synchronize the tracker with the App. Date and time are automatically adjusted.
- Cannot find app on iPad: Change the App Store selection at the top from 'Apps for iPad' to 'iPhone only'.
- Wrench symbol (-02) on tracker: This indicates a problem with the heart rate sensor. Please contact support@guardo.be.
